May is and as we consistently raise awareness about mental health conditions and eliminate the stigma, we must also actively work to provide access to resources that help alleviate mental hardships.
Today, we’re proud to highlight our nonprofit partner Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service (LSA), which strengthens and empowers vulnerable families and children by meeting their basic needs for food, healthcare, education and a safe home, in the belief that affirming families in their own dignity improves the entire community.
According to LSA’s Development Consultant Kristin Sweeting, their goal is to reframe the narrative for these vulnerable communities from “surviving odds” to “shattering them.”
“It's ensuring that every child in East Harlem learns a powerful lesson: they can lead change in their own lives, their families, and their community,” Kristin adds. “When children see their parents accessing resources, advocating for better housing, and securing essential services, they internalize a transformative truth—that a future of dignity, opportunity, and leadership belongs to them.”
