Happy Birthday to our beloved co-founder David Pincus! 🥳🕊️

After a child passed away in his arms in 1984, our co-founder was moved to dedicate his life to the well-being of children, a major impetus of the Pincus Family Foundation’s origins.

When it came to helping to eliminate children’s suffering, Mr. Pincus traveled across the globe to bring joy to children by showing them with delightful gifts, including Sudan, Mozambique, Haiti, Liberia, and South Africa.

“Those things are so joyous for me,” Mr. Pincus noted. “I love it. The rewards are so enormous for me.”

A life well-lived, indeed. In honor of Mr. Pincus birthday, drop one word in the comments that brings joy to you and the children in your life. ⬇️

On the eve of our co-founder David Pincus’s birthday (10/8), we’re digging into the PFF Archives so you can get to know the man behind the philanthropy. 📰

💡 Did you know? Mr. Pincus worked within the clothing trade. As immigrants of what is currently known as Belarus, Mr. Pincus’s father and uncles founded Pincus Bros.-Maxwell (PBM) in 1911.

In collaboration with his older brother Nat, Mr. Pincus’s leadership at PBM expanded into one of the largest menswear manufacturers in Philadelphia. Familiar with the iconic designer Bill Blass? PBM produced those suits for 35 years!

As we continue to honor , which occurs September 15 - October 15, we’re showing appreciation to our partner DIY Girls for their continued commitment to our youth!

DIY Girls provide free, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programming and mentorship to girls and gender-expansive youth who might otherwise lack access to these transformative opportunities.

A few skills have participants learned:

👩🏽‍🔬Different engineering categories
⚡ Open and closed circuits
👩🏽‍🔧 Soldering

“Thanks to the support of the Pincus Family Foundation, our students were able to explore, create, and imagine futures they had never before considered,” Cristina Gutierrez Medina, Executive Director noted. “One of the most meaningful moments for our team comes at the end of each semester, when we read students’ reflections in their own words, clear reminders that access to hands-on STEAM learning can be truly life-changing.”
