Awareness Spotlight: Maegan

Maegan is a 15 year old girl in the 9th grade. She chose to do a paper on cholangiocarcinoma for a school project called, "I am We". She was to choose a subject that she was passionate about, could form and "action" on and make a difference.

Maegan's father, David Taylor, passed away from cholangiocarcinoma about six years ago. Maegan said it was only about a year from diagnosis to his passing. Her dad was 47 years old.

Maegan wanted to get more involved with bringing awareness to cholangiocarcinoma and would be interested in mentoring other young kids who parents have been diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma. She says she would like other kids in her shoes to know to spend as much time with their loved ones as possible and understand what they are going through.

Maegan received an "A" on her project!

Thank you for helping raising awareness Maegan!

Hard to imagine that 100 years ago the word “cancer” was rarely spoken, and almost all patients were lost to the disease. Unimaginable because today more than 400 people a day are celebrating birthdays that would have otherwise been lost to the disease. Share the graphic and let people know you want to finish the fight and make this cancer’s last century.
