You would never know this beautiful Pomeranian baby has a massive hole in his heart. He does. Without surgery and cardiologist care that will be about 6k at UPenn, he won’t live to be one. He’s too precious for us to let this happen.

You see, one of his vessels didn’t close up before birth. As a result he has a grade five heart murmur - you can hear his heart regurgitating with a naked ear. It feels like three sneakers bouncing around in a dryer. Eventually the heart works so hard, it causes very early heart failure.

Sunny will be the third dog in three months getting this surgery and number four is in foster care now. We won’t say no, it we can’t save them without your help.

One of the best part of what we do is that timehop brings us little gifts each morning.

Todays gift was these pictures of our beautiful Lucy goosey, enjoying a late summer day on the boat. Pulled from Yonkers with cancer, heart mirmur 5/6 and bladder stones, this girl brought us and her fabulous subsequent hospice fosters years of love and joy.

For days, local volunteers tried to catch this ball of fur in a Winslow park.

The town”s very active and helpful animal control saw him. Followed him into a bush. Said “are you really going to make me climb under there?”

She went in, under the bush and saw Barney (open to other suggestions) and got him.

Barney is phenomenal. Local shelter is full. He is on stray hold until 5/31. Owner should contact Homeward Bound to reclaim.

Homeward Bound is full of good dogs. Ergo, we offered to foster him during the hold so a spot can be open for another dog. Owner can reclaim through the shelter with appropriate proof and credentials of this unchipped, sort of furry, but rather magnificent, sweet and loving being.

Anyway, Barney with us. We kept his bed - he knows it and it’s his only possession in the world. Or at least was.

Momma Erin and her seven Irish doodle puppies have clean bills of health and are ready for foster and adoption!

She is about two, healthy and drying up after spending the last 8 weeks tending to her beautiful puppies.

Foster and adoption through our Peyton’s Place wing, but I just had to post the first picture of sweet momma.

Sweet Penny!

Meet PENNY!

This adorable little Chihuahua girl is 7 years old and looking for her happily ever (fur)after. She is a sweet and friendly little pup who is used to living with other dogs, so her perfect home would have another pup or two waiting for her.

Penny needs a patient adopter who can help to re-teach her some of the basics. She is mostly house-trained, but needs to be kept on a schedule (and some regression is common with any change in environment).

She is spayed, UTD on vaccines and ready to go. Now she's just waiting for that perfect someone to choose her as their new BFF!

Our team has quietly rehomed about 300 dogs from various breeding situations in 2023.

Everyone gushes over the babies and puppies. Little old peanut and the seniors like him are what keep us going.

Run free, little guy. Thank you foster mom for showing him unconditional love.

Speaking of a need for fosters:

Who loves Italian Greyhounds? We are working on a transport of six in the very near future and will need fosters and adopters lined up.

iggies are special dogs, they need special families.
These girls will very likely be quite spectacular, as all the dogs we get from this source are. But we cannot bring them up without fosters and asopters willing to be approved now for when we make the transport run in the next couple of weeks.

We have relationships all over the country to get dogs that are rarely available for rehoming. These will be young adults typically 2-4 years old. They will be fosters to adopt until their spays.

Anyway, let’s get your applications in so we can get these girls up here.

We get pictures of dogs who need a place to crash all the time. We are limited by foster spaces.

This old Merle Pomeranian dude is in Alabama. We can arrange transport. We need fosters.

We don’t have a better picture. Description is he is nice. Doesn’t see very well but can hear. We will work to get more info but he will need a nice warm bed to sleep on. Can you help?

We are in love with Biewer terriers. We also can’t pronounce the name.

What we can do is motivate and make an 1893 Mile drive in half a weekend to help rehome five of these beautiful, home-raised and friendly creatures in homes worthy of the joy they bring!
