Hey guys, TODAY is Give to Lincoln Day. 🐢 🦋 🦌 When you give to the Nebraska Wildlife Federation, you invest in giving a voice to our wild critters, and the wild places they call home (i.e. adequate stream flows in our rivers and water quality for them, and for us!). Giving is open until midnight.

The Nebraska Wildlife Federation is dedicated to conserving Nebraska's wildlife and natural habitats. We work to protect our wildlife resources, ensuring a thriving environment for future generations.

Crazy about Monarchs? We are looking for YOU to help us learn how can we grow native milkweed more successfully — and more widely.

We’re inviting Nebraskans, Kansans, and others, to participate directly in this research by growing milkweed, observing what happens, and sharing simple data that will help conservation scientists and land stewards improve monarch habitat at scale.

Certify your backyard with the Certified Wildlife Habitat program and get bragging rights, a sign, and help support KWF.

Senator Brandt made LR298CR his priority measure for the 2026 session, which is great news. Governor Pillen wants to sweep $40 million from the Environmental Trust over the next two years. This resolution, if advanced by the Legislature and approved by Nebraska voters this fall, would ensure that Trust funds could only be awarded via competitive grants.

Many thanks to our Board President, Dr. Russ Souchek for testifying on behalf of NeWF!

Wildlife and conservation groups urged state senators Thursday to prevent the “death by a thousand cuts” of the Nebraska Environmental Trust.

Did you know that data centers require millions of gallons of water per day for cooling, often rivaling the daily usage of a town with 50,000 residents? They also consume immense amounts of electricity which can strain local grids and lead to increased energy costs for residential consumers?

With greater federal interest in expanding the artificial intelligence industry, many people have questions about the impact of data center infrastructures on the health of local residents and natural resources. Join the National Wildlife Federation roundtable on February 19, 2026 5-7pm central, where these questions and actions you can take in your own communities will be discussed. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask panelists questions and discuss their own experiences with data center developments. Wildlife Federation
