UNITE 16: Community Entrepreneurship Opportunities Local program to encourage entrepreneurship opportunities, as well as, business and youth partnerships in Seward County.

The local Extension office, Seward County Economic Development, and the University of Nebraska joined together to help create the Unite 16: Community Entrepreneurship Opportunities program. Our hope is to create a partnership between local businesses and the youth to help ensure the economic future of Seward County.

The Unite 16 CEO students are presenting their final business plans tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. Good luck to the students!

Thanks to all of the students for their hard work this school year learning how to become entrepreneurs. We anticipate between 40 and 50 people that will be present tomorrow to hear their presentations.

UNITE 16: Community Entrepreneurship Opportunities met this past Wednesday, February 19 at the Seward Memorial Library. Thanks to our speaker, Charles Lieske for teaching the students about marketing their businesses. Also, thank you to Joey Carder at Sports Express and Michelle Mueller at Cornerstone Interiors & Design for teaching about their entrepreneurial experiences. Sheryl Piening-Keller completed the day by helping the students' business plans get into shape.

Unite 16 CEO is meeting on Wednesday, February 5 in the basement of the Seward Memorial Library starting at noon. We will be learning about marketing from a small business owner (http://victorineoriginals.com/) and new Seward Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Charles Lieske. Then, we will be touring local businesses, Sports Express and Cornerstone Interiors & Design. We will finish up the day by reviewing the first drafts of the students' business plans. Are you ready for a great day of learning about entrepreneurship?!

Yesterday, the session at The Pizza Kitchen in Milford got the students working on their business plans. Thanks to Larry Heyen (Heyen Tax & Accounting Inc.) and Trenton Volkmer (The Austin Company, Inc.) for spending time teaching them about their businesses in Milford. Time to start working on those business plans!
