Laura from Moms got the goods, a plant nursery, reached out to let me know she will be offering an assortment of plants at this event. I am not able to make it but I thought there might be some members who might be interested in making the trip so I wanted to share. Sounds like a wonderful time!! If you love plants of course! 😂

I started doing this with flowers I really want seed from, and it makes collection so much easier 🌸 A few things I’ve learned:
🌱 Slip a breathable mesh or organza bag over the flower head as it begins drying
☀️ Let the seed head mature fully on the plant whenever weather allows
👜 The bag helps catch loose seeds before they fall or blow away
✂️ Once the head is completely brown and dry, cut it with the bag still attached
📦 Bring it indoors, remove the seeds, and let them finish drying before storage
🚫 Skip plastic bags outdoors because trapped moisture can encourage mold
This works especially well for zinnias and other flowers with seeds that are easy to lose once the heads get dry.
