Final report from Captain Justin:

-8 stayed with us last night, but some trickled out as the night went on.
-Thank you to Travis for the chili dinner last night!
- 5 are planning to go for showers at SFUMC this morning.

I just want to add my appreciation for all of you. This warming station activation was 3 weeks long as of today. That’s 21 days that we kept people out of the elements. 21 days of Gods people being the hands and feet of Jesus’s mercy in this community. Lives were saved, the gospel was shared and hope was received in that time, because of you.

Until these groundhogs get theirselves together, we may not be out of the woods yet, but we were able to achieve something great together. So whether you gave a ride, organized volunteers, cooked a meal or stood vigil through the night, please know that God is surely proud of His servants.

Stay tuned to this group as we begin to make some more organization happen in preparation for whatever the rest of this winter holds. God bless you all, and thank you.

-thank you to Mendi for the Olive Garden dinner, our guests felt special and ate every bite!
-most of them have plans for tomorrow’s exit. I will be giving rides into town for those that aren’t sure where they are headed, so that they aren’t super far out of town and have to walk.

From Captain Justin:
Good morning! Sunday report:
-we had nine stay with us again last night. We’ve begun having conversations about what happens after the warming center for each person individually. I want to try to encourage them to follow through with whatever goals or plans they make when we do shut down.

-some of the pipes froze last night in the office area. We have some jugs of water that we can do meal prep and coffee with, but the water is not working. That said, the water is working in the chapel, where the neighbors are staying and so I’m not worried about them.

-We’ve been talking about a couple of supplies that are needed and will be in touch about those as the day progresses.

Thank you.

Saturday report:
-9 neighbors stayed with with us last night. They’re starting to get cabin fever, but like Pam said, we have some games for entertainment so we’re hanging in there.

Friday update:
- 9 stayed with us last night. 6+ inches of snow here, thanks to the county EMA we were able to get some ice melt. Everyone appreciated the showers and clean bedding, thank you to all who helped make that happen.

-we have Pinchy’s making dinner for us. The roads are a bit of a question mark at the moment, is there anyone with a big vehicle who would be willing to pick that up for us? The pickup would be at about 4:00pm.

01/30/2026

Good morning, Thursday nights report:

-9 stayed with us last night, no issues. Thanks to Mike and Terrie, nearly everyone has a fresh set of clothes and should have clean bedding when they get back from showers.

-Showers are at 10:00am at FUMC, huge thank you for those volunteers making this happen.

-we are prepping for more bad/worse weather today. Will keep the updates coming.
