To my fellow Christians, never allow the confidence of an unbeliever to be mistaken for the truth. Some people speak as though Christianity has been disproven, as though the Bible has been debunked, or as though faith in Christ is somehow foolish, yet when their claims are examined, they often rest on assumptions, speculation, and assertions rather than evidence. Jesus warned us this would happen. He said, "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you" (John 15:18). The attacks against Christ, Scripture, and the Gospel are not new. They have existed since the first century, and yet the Gospel still stands.
When someone mocks your faith, twists Scripture, or demands that you abandon Christ, remember that our faith is not built on blind belief. It is built on the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, events witnessed by His followers and proclaimed publicly in the very places where those events occurred. Scripture commands us to be ready to defend the faith: "Always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you" (1 Peter 3:15). Notice that God does not call us to surrender when challenged. He calls us to stand firm in the truth.
At the same time, understand that not everyone is seeking truth. Some ask questions because they genuinely want answers, while others ask questions only to argue, mock, and reject whatever evidence is presented. Jesus addressed this reality when He said, "Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs" (Matthew 7:6). There comes a point when a believer has faithfully presented the truth and the other person has made it clear that their goal is not understanding but opposition. At that point, our responsibility is not to win an argument but to remain faithful to Christ.
So stand strong, know your Bible, study the evidence, defend the faith without fear, and never let the noise of the world drown out the truth of God. Christ is still Lord, His Word is still true, and no amount of ridicule, arrogance, or unbelief will ever change that reality. โ๏ธ๐
