Thank you for honoring our sister Rotary International

Dolly Parton taught the world a lot about music, determination and dreaming big. But here in East Tennessee, she taught us something else:

What it means to serve.

She gave children books and encouraged them to dream beyond the circumstances into which they were born. She supported education and provided scholarships. She helped families rebuild after devastating wildfires. She invested in healthcare, supported important causes, created opportunities and jobs, and continually gave back to the mountain community that raised her.

And she did it year after year, often without making herself the center of the story.

As Rotarians, we believe in Service Above Self. Dolly lived that principle in a way few ever will. She understood that success brings with it an opportunity to make life better for someone else.
Her generosity reached around the world, but she never stopped reaching back home.

Today, the Sevierville Rotary Club honors Dolly Parton not simply for what she accomplished, but for what she chose to do with everything she accomplished.

A life well lived. A community well loved. A lifetime of service.

Thank you Dolly.
