Today, our hearts are broken.

There will be many beautiful words written about Dolly Parton today. She will be remembered as an inspiration, a philanthropist, a humanitarian, and one of the most generous people our community has ever known.

But for the women of 100+ Women Who Care Sevier County, one word resonates more than any other:

𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞.

An inspiration shows us what is possible. A source is where something begins.

A source gives. Like the source of a mountain spring, it nourishes. It creates something that keeps moving outward, touching lives far beyond the place where it began.

That was Dolly.

Her generosity didn't simply inspire our community. It became part of the current running through it. Children learned to love books because Dolly put them into their hands. Families found opportunity because she invested in the place that raised her. Organizations grew stronger. People discovered what generosity could accomplish, and, in turn, they gave too.

That is why Dolly has always held such a special place in the hearts of 100+ Women Who Care Sevier County.

We lovingly called her our 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬. But Dolly's gift was never that everything she touched turned to gold. It was that whatever she was given, she found a way to turn toward good.

Our giving circle grew from that same belief: Take what is in your hands. Join it with what others can give. Send it back into the community, where it can become something greater.

Dolly wasn't simply an example of that idea. She was one of its sources.

And the extraordinary thing about a source is this: It doesn't disappear simply because we can no longer see where it begins. The water keeps moving, feeding one thing, then another, carrying something of its source farther than it could ever travel alone.

Dolly's goodness will keep moving through Sevier County for generations.

Through every child who opens a book. Through every neighbor who decides to help another. Through every person who realizes that what they have, however large or small, can become something greater when it is given. And through women like us, who will keep gathering, giving, and caring for the community she loved so deeply.

Dolly wasn't just our inspiration.

And we intend to keep what she started flowing.
