Spiritual Adoption Month 3: “I grabbed my hand” – Your spiritually adopted baby can now squint, swallow and move his tongue. He sleeps and awakens. Fingernails and toenails form and he now has his own unique set of fingerprints. Sensitive to touch, he will tightly grasp an object placed in the palm of his hand. He breathes amniotic fluid to help develop and strengthen the respiratory system, but he gets the oxygen he needs through the umbilical cord. Please continue your little prayer to spare your baby’s life from abortion. More prayer cards are available in the Gathering Space.

Happy Father’s Day
In thanksgiving to all our fathers, grandfathers, adoptive fathers, and spiritual fathers, the Respect Life Ministry will have a special treat or gift after each morning Mass this Father’s Day at the main entrance to the church.

Spiritual Adoption – To the many parishioners who signed up to spiritually adopt a baby, we pray that your little 9-month prayer can make a difference in the life of the unborn baby and can provide support for mothers facing unexpected pregnancies and help them choose life for their baby. It is not too late to sign up so stop by the bulletin board area in the gathering space for more information, prayer cards, and a poster of the developing baby.

Baby Development – Month 2 ‘I’m Dancing’ – The developing baby is now called a “fetus”, a Latin word meaning “little one.” She is making rapid progress developing all her external and internal organs, and by 8 weeks all her body systems are present. Brain waves can also now be recorded. During this second month of life baby teeth begin to form, and fingers and toes are developing. Her ears, nose, lips and tongue can now be clearly seen, and her skeleton changes from cartilage to bone. The central nervous system is functioning and her forty muscle sets are practicing their first exercises. She jumps and hops – her first dance steps! Please continue your little daily prayer for my continued development!

USCCB Intercession: For all those longing to welcome a child through adoption – May the Lord guide their journey and grant them peace along the way; We pray to the Lord.

The annual Maryland March for Life is set for March 16, kicking off at St. Mary in Annapolis with a 5:30 p.m. Mass celebrated by Archbishop William E. Lori in the church and a concurrent Christian prayer service in the school hall. A youth rally will precede the religious services 4:30-5:15 p.m.

Please join the 40 Days for Life spring campaign from Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18 - March 29, to pray and fast for the unborn. We will pray peacefully outside the Annapolis Planned Parenthood building, 929 West Street, on Saturdays 9a.m. - 1p.m. and Tuesdays noon - 4p.m.

Prayer can change hearts and minds. This Lent, consider praying for one hour as a sacrifice for these innocent babies.
