Learning how to prepare a meal from scratch is a life skill—and life skills have no gender role! 👩🏾‍🍳👨🏾‍🍳

Some of our Shelley’s House youth had an amazing time participating in a hands-on cooking class, where they learned how to make homemade lasagna from scratch! From preparing the ingredients and building each layer to enjoying the finished meal, our youth gained confidence, practiced teamwork, and learned skills they can use for a lifetime.

⚾️ We’re back—and what better way to return than with a family night at the ballpark! 🧡🖤

Shelley’s House had an amazing time taking our youth and families out to see the Baltimore Orioles take on the New York Yankees! From cheering in the stands to sharing laughs, food, and unforgettable moments, this experience was about more than baseball—it was about family, connection, and creating memories together.

We may have taken a break from social media, but the work, love, and impact never stopped. Stay tuned—Shelley’s House has so much more to share! 💚

For the past two years, Shelley’s House has been honored to partner with Store Manager Ruthie and the Glen Burnie Walmart to host our annual Back to School Carnival.

This partnership has allowed us to provide hundreds of children and families with essential back-to-school items while creating a fun, family-friendly experience filled with free food, carnival games, prizes, face painting, free haircuts, and so much more.

We are incredibly thankful for community partnerships that are meaningful, intentional, and focused on making a lasting impact. When organizations come together with a shared purpose, amazing things happen.

✨ What an incredible day! ✨

Our 3rd Annual Christmas in July Giveaway, in partnership with Walmart, was an incredible success! ❤️ From free food and fresh groceries to clothing, toys, household items, games, activities, books, and visits with Black Santa, there truly was something for everyone! 🎅🏿🎁📚

A heartfelt thank you to Meade Heights Elementary School for graciously hosting this year’s event and allowing us to serve hundreds of children and families in our community.

We are especially grateful to Catholic Charities, whose generous donation of fresh produce and protein helped ensure families left with nutritious food to put on their tables. Your commitment to fighting food insecurity made a meaningful difference, and we are truly thankful for your partnership.

This event would not have been possible without the dedication of our amazing volunteers, generous sponsors, and outstanding community partners. Because of your support, countless families experienced the joy of Christmas in July.

This week, Kaivion will be competing at the National Junior Olympics, representing his team, his community, and everyone who has supported his journey.

Behind every successful community event is an incredible team of volunteers. ❤️

We are beyond grateful for every person who gave their time, energy, and heart to help us prepare for tomorrow’s 3rd Annual Christmas in July. From unloading trucks to organizing donations and setting everything up, your dedication is what makes this event possible.

There are so many ways to support us—your time, resources, and financial contributions all make a difference—but what we love most is time. Our volunteers really pulled up their sleeves and did the big one yesterday, showing up with full hearts and hands ready to work.
