📣 Let’s Finish Strong — Every Day Counts! 🐾
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, attendance matters now more than ever.
Last year, we ended with a chronic absenteeism rate of 49.55% — meaning nearly half of our students missed 18 days or more of school. That’s a lot of missed learning time.
This year, we’ve made strong progress and are currently at 36.31% — something to be proud of! ✅
However, the end of the year is when attendance often drops the most — and we want to change that trend.
🎯 We have FIVE school days left for students. Let’s strive for FIVE out of FIVE!
And don’t forget…
🐶 Captain, our therapy dog, only has FIVE more days to see all of his favorite students!
He looks forward to every visit, every smile, and every hallway greeting. Let’s make sure he gets to see you each day before summer break!

Sherman High School has made real progress this year.

On May 6, 2025, our chronic absenteeism rate was 46.08%.
Today, it’s 35.14%.
That improvement didn’t happen by accident—it’s the result of students showing up, staff supporting, and families staying engaged.
We’re getting close, but we’re not finished.
As we head into the final stretch, every day matters. Keep showing up. Keep putting in the work. Finish what you started.
