Beyond excited to share that our campaign has received the sole endorsement of the Washington Education Association!
As a child of two career-long educators, and an educator myself, this endorsement means the world to me. Educators and educational support professionals show up every single day to help students learn, grow, and prepare for adult life.
I have been RIFed due to a lack of appropriate funding. I have worked in a middle school developmental learning class. I have seen the difference between the services and resources available in an affluent district compared to a rural one. With these experiences, I have seen firsthand how socioeconomic and immigration status can have a major impact on one’s experience in school. There are so many students I often think about and wonder how they’re doing now. There are so many moments and experiences that live in my heart from my time teaching, and that deeply impact how I think about policy at the state level.
If elected, I will use my experience in education to sponsor and support policies that improve our public education system so that every kid has access to the support they need to thrive, and every educator has the resources they need to make that possible for their students.
Thank you so much to the WEA for your belief in my candidacy!
