Heartwood Haven picked up the dumped Piggy family! We're so relieved!
❤️❤️❤️

The family who was dumped in the woods is now safely in our trailer. It took a lot of patience but eventually they all went in!

This family was dumped in the woods in a remote location outside of Hamma Hamma, WA. Thanks to the patience and determination of our team they are now heading back to the sanctuary.

We need your help to get them all spayed/neutered and fed and comfortable. They have been out on their own for awhile so they are very skinny and will need a lot of cozy hay to keep them warm in the coming days.

Here on the Olympic Peninsula, right on the Hood Canal.

Update: We have caught these pigs and they are here at our sanctuary.

These 6 pigs were dumped in the forest near Hamma Hamma, WA. It’s a remote area with only a few houses on Forest Service roads. There is no animal control in this area and no hope for these pigs.

They are at great risk with temperatures in the teens at night and they have no way to protect themselves from predators. They were discovered by one of the homeowners who lives in this area. Although, we just took in momma and her babies these pigs desperately need us too.

If we don’t rescue them, no one else will help them. In the group of 6 there are 2 young babies and 4 young adults. Can you help us save them? Your donation will be used to spay/neuter them and provide them with feed and hay once they arrive at the sanctuary. Our plan is to drive to them today and catch them to get them to safety.

Homes needed!

🎉 We did it. We rescued 75 birds. As of Friday evening all birds are at sanctuaries in warm quarantine spaces, getting large amounts of food, water, warmth and rest. ♥️ I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the humans that supported us in this rescue. It was a small group of people, in 5 days that donated all their time and effort to help save these individuals and the sanctuaries who offered to help take them in, making it all possible. I can’t thank any of you enough. Thank you to our special community filled with compassion. ♥️

**We are still accepting applications for roosters. They are friendly, fun, curious, determined individuals. If you are interested in providing a forever ‘companion only’ home for one or more of them - please complete an application.

We are working on rescuing a large number of birds. They are in urgent need of good homes. We can only rescue as many as we find placement for.

There are 50+ birds including 6 geese, 7 ducks, and chickens (mostly roosters). They have all been co-existing and the roosters are kind & docile.

*Must be a Pet Only home, with predator proof housing, and a safe enriching environment.

Flashback Jan 2015!

My love for pigs was solidified when I met Miss Piggy (pictured) at River's Wish Animal Sanctuary in Spokane. Kit Jagoda gave me an in depth tour of the sanctuary and shared her knowledge of sanctuary life.
A few months later she would introduce to my first baby pig, Onyx. 🐽❤️
