April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Did you know: About 1 in 10 children in the United States will be s*xually abused before their 18th birthday? Did you know: approximately 90% of child trafficking victims were s*xually abused before being trafficked?

The mission of Rivers of Justice is prevention. We believe that if we can end child s*xual abuse we can greatly reduce the number of children who will become victims of s*x trafficking. As a means of prevention we are offering the Stewards of Children curriculum which is offered by the nationally recognized nonprofit Darkness to Light and is specially designed for organizations that serve children. This training equips people who work directly with children to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child s*xual abuse.

During the two hour training, attendees receive practical insights through video testimonials, group discussions, and the course's workbook. As a certified facilitator of the Stewards of Children training, we offer this program to any organization that works directly with children.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and tomorrow, January 11, is Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Our Rivers of Justice Team will be wearing blue tomorrow because blue is internationally recognized as the universal color for human trafficking prevention. Join us and show your solidarity with victims of human trafficking and raise awareness of human trafficking by wearing blue on Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

Buyers are driving the demand for commercial s*x. If there were no buyers there would be no child trafficking. Research indicates that 99% of buyers are males most of whom are in the age range of 30-50 with a wife and children at home. It encourages us to see that law enforcement is working to end the demand and we hope to see, in the future, this same thing happening in all 50 states.
