Only TWO WEEKS LEFT to enter your quilt into The 2026 Asheville Quilt Show! All quilt entries must be received by June 19 which is two weeks from today!
Did you know we have 21 different categories to choose from? Non-members can enter a quilt in two different categories, and members can enter a quilt in three different categories as long as one of them is entered in the member category.
The theme for this year's member category is: “Celebrating 250!” Quilts interpreting this theme should celebrate America’s 250th birthday and/or aspects of its history/founding, and must include the colors red, white, and blue as part of its design. Quilts made from kits are NOT permitted in this category.
Our entry form is available online at https://www.ashevillequiltguild.org/Entry-Form and we will be accepting entry forms through June 19, 2026 for our August show. Your quilt does not have to be complete by June 19, but you do need to send in your entry form by that date!
Please be sure to read through all of the 2026 Rules and Regulations before you fill out your entry form. Links to both are available on the entry form page linked above.
We are working hard to make this the best Asheville Quilt Show ever, and having YOUR quilt on display will make it even more special!
Quilt shop owners, be sure to share this with your clients so they can be part of this awesome show!

The June 2026 issue of “Carolina Arts” is ready to download - all 82 pages, which you can download at (www.carolinaarts.com). That’s only 2 less pages than last month. And, it’s another issue with 70 or more pages - but who’s counting? I am, as I have to layout every one of those pages. And sometimes it seems like I’m never going to make my deadlines in time. But, I always do - knock on wood. On our cover this month is a work by Susan R. Sorrell of the Greenville, SC, area. It is part of the exhibition, At The Thresold, featuring a retrospective of mixed media and textile works on view at the Simpsonville Art Center in Simpsonville, SC. The exhibit spanning her years as a working artists and a glimpse of where the journey leads next, will be on view from June 12 through Aug. 9, 2026. A reception will be held on June 27, from 10am-12:30pm. You can read the article about his exhibition on Page 12 of this issue. I know her as the Who Doo lady. She makes Who Doo dolls which gives their owner super powers. I had one during my cancer days, and he’s never very far from my desk to get me though each issue. Download a copy of this issue, read my commentary, and find out where you can get your own Who Doo doll. As we all need some Who Doo power at some point in our lives.

We hope to see your beautiful quilt in the 2026 Asheville Quilt Show! The deadline for entries – JUNE 19th – is coming soon and we don’t want you to miss it! Our show is earlier this year than in prior years– August 13-15th -- so the deadline for entry submission is earlier than usual. We know that with the earlier deadline for entries this year that presents some challenges, but remember, we just need a photo that gives us AN IDEA of what the quilt may look like – that means you can just lay out cut pieces on a floor or table and take a photo. You have until the quilt drop off date of August 10th to complete the quilt.
If you are a member of the Asheville Quilt Guild, our Member Category allows you to enter a third quilt that is no wider than 60” – this year’s theme is Celebrating 250! Quilts interpreting this theme should celebrate America’s 250th birthday and/or aspects of its history/founding, and must include the colors red, white, and blue as part of its design. Quilts made from kits are NOT permitted in this category.
Entry forms (online and manual printable versions) and Rules are available on our website under Entry Form Information. https://www.ashevillequiltguild.org/Entry-Form
We urge you to use the ONLINE ENTRY FORM, which provides several advantages:
*You will get immediate confirmation that your form has been received along with an immediate email receipt for your entry fee payment, and
*You will receive a copy of your entry submission form.
*You don't have to worry about it getting delayed past the deadline or getting lost in the mail and never arriving. We no longer rely on postmark dates for deadline purposes but on date of receipt of the entry.
We also hope you are considering helping your children or grandchildren create an entry for the Junior Quilt category! We love seeing those entries!
If you have any questions about the quilt entry process, please don't hesitate to contact Donna at the email address below. We look forward to receiving your entries.
