The Seneca County Children's Committee of NY, founded in the late 1800's by a group of concerned citizens, continues today to advance its mission: To improve the quality of life for Seneca County, NY children and families. The Committee strives to be informed and to promote awareness of services available to Seneca County residents and acts, upon request, in developing and distributing resources f
or the benefit of children and families. The all volunteer group operates as a community funded partner with allocations from the United Way of Seneca County, NY and with private donations by individuals, groups and the members themselves. The Committee has no overhead expenses, so all funds directly reach those children and their families. Currently, the Children's Committee supports monetary, goods and services requests, monthly allowances for foster children, 4 - $500 Senior college/trade school scholarships, and providing boots and gifts for the Community Christmas Project.
