Attention all Wastewater Operators preparing to take your certification exam: please be aware that the operational manuals have changed. MDEQ has shared that there is not a compiled manual yet, but the main reference materials are now California State Sacramento CSUS, Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants, Volume 1 and Volume 2, 8th Edition. WPI also lists these wastewater treatment operator exam references on its exam reference page.

Please help pass this information along to anyone studying for their wastewater certification exam.

Reference materials:

Volume 1: Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants, Volume 1, 8th Edition
Volume 2: Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants, Volume 2, 8th Edition
WPI Exam References: WPI’s wastewater treatment operator exam references page also points examinees to the relevant study materials.

MDEQ also noted that there are a few higher-level areas referenced through WEF manuals, but almost all other test material comes from the CSUS Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants manuals. This summary is based on the statement you provided plus the WPI references page
