Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto will be hosting a free baby fair this coming Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hospital’s outpatient waiting area on the main floor of the hospital. During the baby fair, moms, dads and other caregivers can learn about car seat and seat belt safety, get healthy pregnancy tips, receive infant CPR information, and learn about breastfeeding, lactation support services and much more. Local vendors, Women’s Pavilion tours, a photo booth, giveaways and prizes will also be featured during the baby fair. Baptist’s nurses, obstetricians, pediatricians and other child health experts will be on hand to answer questions.

📰We are bringing Haven Baby Box to Tate county! These boxes offer safety and protection for the most vulnerable.

👶🏻“Safe Haven Baby Boxes (SHBB) are specialized, secure, and climate-controlled units installed on the exterior walls of fire stations and hospitals, allowing mothers in crisis to anonymously surrender newborns up to 30 days old. The boxes feature a silent alarm system that alerts staff immediately when a baby is placed inside, allowing for instant medical care and retrieval. Founded in 2015, they provide a legal, no-questions-asked alternative to abandonment. “
