Today in art, creativity was completely in their hands—and we have to say, we’ve got some seriously creative minds in this crew! 💡🖌️ We love seeing what happens when creativity has no limits! 💚✨

When the temps hit triple digits, there’s only ONE place to be… in the pool! ☀️💦😎

Our residents are beating the heat while getting in some exercise—swimming, moving, and having plenty of fun along the way! 🏊‍♀️💪💙

Who says a workout can’t make a splash? 💦

✈️ JET is taking off at The Baddour Center!

We’re excited to introduce JET—Job Enrichment Training, a new program helping adults with intellectual disabilities gain the skills, confidence, and experience needed to take their first steps toward meaningful employment.

Through hands-on learning and instruction, participants are building skills in communication, teamwork, time management, workplace safety, responsibility, and more.

Our inaugural class took flight on August 3 at GoodWorks Complex II, a Vocational Services building on our campus that houses Baddour Custom Packaging, with eight Baddour residents ready to learn, grow, and prepare for what’s next! 💙

New skills. New confidence. New opportunities. JET is ready for takeoff! ✈️

Today’s Afternoon Connection class revolved around Science! In particular, we learned about motion.
We used rubber band launchers to explore the ‘force” behind movement. We watched gravity in motion by racing hot wheels down ramps and dropping tennis balls and tissue paper off a ladder to see which landed first.

Which do you think landed first?

Old friends. New friends. Friends who become family. 💚🏡✨

Afternoon Connection hosted a fun-filled Chair Boogie this afternoon! 🕺💃

Fifteen participants “boogied” the afternoon away with a mix of low- and high-intensity aerobics—all while staying seated! Who knew you could burn calories while sitting? 🙌

The playlist included favorites like “Dancing Queen,” “Cupid Shuffle,” and “She’s a Bad Mama Jama”—and it sounds like everyone had a blast! 🎶❤️

What a fun way to get moving, enjoy some great music, and spend the afternoon together!

We are beyond thrilled to share that, during the month of August, we not only reopened Lafayette Home but also welcomed FOUR incredible new gentlemen to the Baddour family! They are already bringing so much energy and enthusiasm to campus! ☺️

And these four, added to the seven we welcomed earlier this year, bring us to ELEVEN new residents moved in during 2026! 💚🏡✨

We were so excited to welcome Ginna Rauls from JOY Life 901 and Ashley Parks from Christ Church Memphis to campus! 🤗✨

Ginna and Ashley drove down from Memphis to spend time visiting with residents and taking them out to lunch. Each resident who attended has a special connection with them through programs with Life 901 and Christ Church Memphis.

If you’re not familiar with JOY Life 901, it is the special needs ministry of Christ Methodist Church, serving individuals with disabilities throughout the Mid-South. We are so grateful for the love you pour into the community you serve and for the meaningful connections you’ve made with Baddour residents.

Thank you, Ginna and Ashley, for making the trip to spend time with some very special people and for continuing to share so much love, joy, and friendship with our residents! 💚

An oldie but a goodie! 💕 We love seeing all kinds of friendships flourish and blossom at Baddour, but especially one as special as Brittany and Julie’s. 🌸

We originally shared their beautiful friendship in last year’s Annual Report and on our blog, but we think these two dear friends are worth celebrating again! 💗 Their friendship is such a sweet reminder of the meaningful connections and lifelong friendships that grow right here at Baddour.

We’re so thankful for Brittany and Julie and the special bond they share! 🌷
