When disaster strikes, trained volunteers can make all the difference. The American Red Cross is hosting a Disaster Action Team (DAT) Training Academy at the Andrews Fire Station—and you can learn how to help local families when they need it most.

📅 October 24–25, 2026
⏰ 1:00–5:00 PM each day
📍 Andrews Fire Station
105 Commerce Dr., Andrews, TX

During the training, you’ll learn how to:

✅ Respond to local disasters
✅ Conduct damage assessments
✅ Support individuals and families affected by house fires
✅ Provide emergency financial assistance

Participants are encouraged to attend both days, but you may register for Part 1 if you’re unable to attend the full academy.

We're looking for a home! We need your help to find our next location so we can continue to serve the community. We operate 17 free programs and services helping 40+ clients a month with things like food, hygiene items, baby supplies, medical devices, home goods, and much more.

We've helped hundreds of folks over the 4+ years we've been around. Single parents, the unhoused, seniors living alone, low income families, and anyone who just had a rough time and needed a little bit of assistance has been directly helped by Blue Skies Mutual Aid.

Now we need the space to grow! Here's some tips on what we're looking for.

Interesting Notes:
- the property can be zoned residential or commercial
- some renovation being needed is not a deal-breaker

Must-Haves:
- a minimum of 1500 sqft
- very low rent/payments ($600/month) or free for our 501(c)3 nonprofit organization
- be located in or close to Seminole city limits

Nice-to-Haves:
- a garage door or double doors to make moving home goods, furniture, and appliances easier
