I want to thank everyone that came out for our blood drive today at our post. I especially want to thank my Jr. Vice Commander Delores Rawls for coordinating this event. Job well done mam. Also want to thank our District 6 Commander Dennis Doherty, District 6 Auxiliary President Sandi Breland-Nichols , and our Post Auxiliary President Beth Doherty for assisting today. Great job by the Red Cross team. Lives will be saved.

Our Junior Vice Commander Deloris Rawls asked me to put out a link for you to sign up for the Red Cross Blood Drive that will take place at our Post on August 24th from 11am-3pm. 14 cots were delivered today to Pastor Grayson at the homeless shelter. Thank you Dennis and Beth Doherty for helping with the delivery. Thank you to everyone that donated. We will be reaching out to the shelter to assist when the weather starts to turn cold. Stay tuned.

Great program today at Summerfield Baptist Church in Valley Grande today for the Mended Hearts program of the Pearl Harbor Memorial. Thank you Senior Vice Commander Kurt Kilponen for the assist with the military display. I had the honor to speak to the group today about VFW history and who we are and what we do. A huge shout out to your post officers, Auxiliary officers to include District 6 Commander and District 6 Auxiliary President. Thank you Mrs. Charmin Brown for inviting the VFW. Met a lot of great Veterans today.

Reminder for Post workday tomorrow morning 7am.
Goals: clean shed and replace bulbs for flood light and flag light. If anyone has an extra water hose we may need it. I'm bringing my trailer, ladder, push broom. Thank you to all of you that plan to help.

Heartbreaking news...I went by the post tonight and no cots have been dropped off. I have 2 of my own and I will stop by a WALMART or Academy tomorrow to get another one to help our homeless. I understand if you don't have one but shop around and let's get our fellow citizens off the floor. Please help us out. I will extend the drop off until tomorrow at 5 pm at our VFW Post 3016. I have faith in you all to help our citizens.
