Today, several of our STEM students had the opportunity to visit the petting zoo at the Selma Public Library! They enjoyed getting up close with goats, a Brahma bull calf, and a little donkey while learning more about animals and agriculture.

Hands on experiences like these make learning fun and create memories that last a lifetime! 🐐🐂🫏📚

Today, as I traveled to visit a few more of our DCSOS STEM sites, I couldn’t help but think back to my childhood and the old “Green Box” program.

For those who remember it, the Green Box was exactly what its name implied, a green box filled with arts and crafts, games, activities, and opportunities to learn and have fun. It was a special part of growing up for many of us.

Today’s children have what I like to call the “Green Box Plus”, the DCSOS STEM Program.

STEM provides students with exciting opportunities to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and discovery. It’s amazing to watch these young minds learn how things work and gain a better understanding of the world around them.

Today, I had the opportunity to visit our STEM sites at Ebenezer, Providence, and Felix Heights, and I also have some great photos to share from our Green Street Cosmetology STEM Program.

The opportunities are endless, and the future is bright with DCSOS STEM!
