Tonight, the Adult leadership relaxed the reigns a little as our Explorers handled a few tasks on their own. While we tried our best not to interfere, we definitely couldn't and wouldn't let them go completely. We were along side of them helping them learn from a few mistakes while trying not to carry them completely (a difficult balance). Our goal was to let them learn while working together, overcoming a few challenges.

* Hydrant

* 1-3/4" Hose deployment and advancement - smooth bore

* Back-up and Nozzle teamwork.

* Packing 1-3/4" Minuteman cross-lay

* Packing 5" supply line

We are very proud of our Explorers and our Junior Firefighters.

Tonight Our Explorers and SFD Junior Firefighters spent some quality time with Officer Brun, Officer Revo and Officer Fields of the Perkasie Borough Police Department .

So much information, so little time.

Our Exploring Program here at the Sellersville Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to giving insight to some various careers in Emergency Services, careers that work hand in hand. Fire and EMS may be our main program but working closely with our local Police Departments is also an important goal to show our young members.

Explorers!

Today we learned about Clove-hitches and how they help us carry equipment.
We learned a little more about buddy breathing.
We learned that we can't really fish with 2-1/2".
We learned that hu***ng Airparks and Hose-line for 3 miles is tiresome.....

Good morning!

Having some fun is a byproduct of working well together.

* The goal behind these weekend walks is to build camaraderie and teamwork. Our 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month incorporate Drills that are a little tougher at times focusing on Firefighting skills and techniques used in our careers.

If your son or daughter is ages 14 (completed the 8th grade) -17 and is interested in Firefighting and EMS, stop by during one our our Drills and Check it out!

Tonight, our Explorers were challenged with some Buddy Breathing exercises. This is the very first time these Explorers have ever attempted this task. Not bad at all for their first time.

How many 16 year olds do you know who can do this?

These Explorers may someday become our Firefighters?

Tonight the Explorers at Post 2767 had their very first experience with some Buddy Breathing Techniques.
