Coffee tasting merit badge??? Yes please! Dorge makes camp so much fun for our adult leaders!!! Can't wait!

Many of you have encountered one Sarah "Dorge" Dorger in your time at Camp Friedlander, and she's back again! Dorge will be serving her eighth summer this year, once again as the Adult Leader Trainer (read: court jester). Previously, she has been Camp Friedlander's Program Director as well as the DBSR Aquatics Director. When she's not busy doing her one-woman comedy show in the daily leaders' meetings, she teaches junior high English in the Lakota school district.

One thing she's especially excited for this summer is her new coffee tasting merit badge that she'll be running. (She thinks she knows a bunch of scoutmasters who will be excited about it, too.) She's also just generally excited to teach every IOLS class except for the knots and ropes one.

Something that you might not know about Dorge is that she has a bucket list item of seeing each of Shakespeare's 38 plays performed live (she's crossed 14 off of her list so far). She also has strong opinions about different editions of dictionaries (Editor's note: Use caution in asking)

Zach is amazing! He is always seeking feedback from units on how to make an amazing camp experience even better! Best camp and program around!!!

Over the coming weeks we will be introducing leadership team, starting with our Camp Director... Zach Hollandsworth!
Returning for his 3rd summer as Camp Director, this will be Zach's 9th Summer on staff here at Friedlander. His favorite activity at camp is seeing it come to life with every new week. This summer, Zach is looking forward to seeing our new Trades Skills building in action for its first summer!
A fun fact about Zach is that he has visited over 50 National Park Service Sites, including Big Bend NP pictured below.

Scouting for Food — Sellersburg, Saturday, Nov. 15th!

Scouts from Troop 6 in Sellersburg will be out this Saturday, Nov. 15th, collecting non-perishable food donations to benefit the Silver Creek High School Food Pantry.

If you live WEST of Interstate 65:
Scouts will be collecting donations starting at 9:00 AM — just place your bag of food by your front door, and they’ll take care of the rest!

If you live EAST of Interstate 65:

Please note — fliers were not delivered in your area this year.
