We're excited to announce a series of Explore 4-H Day Camps this fall and winter at the Snyder County 4-H Office for new and existing members!

Camp Dates (these are dates that school is not in session):
November 30
December 28
January 18
February 15

Camp hours will be 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The camp will be hosted at the Snyder County 4-H Office.

Youth can register through ZSuite at 4h.zsuite.org under the "Passport to Explore 4-H Club." Project Selection is Explore 4H. There will be a one time fee of $30 for new members to enroll for the new year which goes from 10/1/2026- 9/30/2027.

Must be 7 years and older to participate. Participants should also pack a lunch for the day.

Why not pick up supper on the way home, or maybe you are feeding the family while you run kiddos to another event!!!! Support 4-H and stop at Wendy's, in Selinsgrove on November 3 between 5 and 7 pm. Nothing is required to show .. just make a purchase and that is all.

🥔Potato Judging 2026 Results! 🥔

The first Potato Judging Contest was held during the Beaver Community Fair, giving the youth the opportunity to evaluate potatoes based on quality factors such as shape, size, uniformity, maturity, and freedom from defects. Contestants use their knowledge and observation skills to rank classes of potatoes and identify the characteristics that make them market-ready. This event helps develop critical thinking, attention to detail, and an understanding of industry grading standards. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and dedication, and to our top placers for their outstanding judging abilities. We had a total of 40 participants this year!

The contest provided youth with an opportunity to explore potato judging and take the first step toward joining the county team for the Pennsylvania Farm Show 4-H Potato Grading and Identification Contest, which will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2027. The Farm Show contest provides an opportunity for youth to compete with participants from across Pennsylvania while representing Snyder County on one of agriculture's biggest stages. Registration for the event can be found in ZSuite events and is due by December 10th.


A special thank you to Middleswarth Potato Chips for generously donating the potatoes used in this year's contest, as well as providing the prize money awarded to our top participants. We greatly appreciate their generosity and commitment to supporting youth agricultural programs and hands-on learning opportunities. Their support helps make this educational event possible and encourages excellence in potato judging.

Congrats to our judging kids at Dairy and Livestock judging contests today! Awards were presented by Pennsylvania 4-H State Council members Trevor Fetterman and Kelton Wenger., along with SUN Area Dairy Princess, Madyson Reich.

Winnng the 4-H Dairy Judging Contest was Lucas Hauck.
Winning the 4-H Livestock Judging Contest was Lucas Spigelmyer (High Individual), and team members, Gavin Spigelmyer, Eliza Belier, Camryn Romig, Austin Belier and Levi Boreman.
