Anyone who has completed the Seguin Citizens Police Academy Association training is eligible to become a member of the Alumni Association. The Association is open to all graduates of the Academy who wish to give back their time and talents to make Seguin a better place in which to live and lessen the burden of the SPD. Alumni members serve the police department at the request of the Chief. Alumni

volunteer hours are an effective tool in curbing manpower needs in the department’s non-enforcement activities. The volunteer opportunities within Seguin are endless as we develop a harmonious working relationship between citizens in the community and the SPD. There can be immense satisfaction in becoming a member of the SCPAAA. Volunteer Opportunities Include:

• Blue Santa
• SPD Halloween Safe House
• Cinderella Ball
• D.A.R.E. Program
• Hot Shots Reunion & Fish Fry
• 4th of July Parade
• At the police station:
o Directing phone calls
o Citizen Victim Assistance
• Law Enforcement Appreciation Week
• Fundraising
o Raffle sales for K-9s
o D.A.R.E. Program
o Other needs as they arise

We forgot to post these this past weekend.

Congratulations to all of the award recipients. We are blessed to have been invited and see all the hardworking each and everyone of you put into your daily duties.

This past weekend, the Seguin Police Department held our annual awards banquet, where we had the honor of recognizing some truly outstanding members of our team. These individuals go above and beyond in service to our community every single day.

Most DWI Arrests – 2025: Ofc. L. Beaudoin

Way to go buddy.

On November 21, 2025, at approximately 9:50 pm, a K9 Officer with the Seguin Police Department Traffic Safety Unit conducted a traffic stop on a Ram 1500 near Mile Marker 613 on IH-10 West for multiple traffic violations.

During the stop, K9 Ayax was deployed and alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed more than 2 pounds of black tar he**in concealed within a natural void of the vehicle, along with THC products and a semi-automatic handgun.

The driver, Andres Teijeda Valencia, 24, of Irving, Texas, was arrested and charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1 > 400g, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG2 < 1g, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

The seized he**in has an estimated street value of $65,000.

This successful seizure was the result of a coordinated effort between the Seguin Police Department Traffic Safety Unit and our Patrol Division.
