Another cold snap is upon us here in Seguin and you might not realize the impact that has on trapping feral cats to get them neutered. When a feral cat is caught in one of our traps, we aren't always right there when it happens. Cats left in traps unattended during bad/cold/wet/stormy weather are at great risk if not picked up quickly. Once they are picked up, they need to be kept in a safe, warm location until time for their appointment. If we do not have a good plan for a cat during bad weather, then we should not trap. Fortunately, bad weather does not last too long in South Central Texas, but we do need to be aware of expected conditions when we plan to trap.
