Cowgirls For A Cure was formed in 2009 as a team for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life to raise money for cancer research and awareness. All of the members of the team are either cancer survivors, caretakers, or have family and friends who have been effected by cancer. In 2010, Linda and Ann began making jewelry and wooden crosses as part of their fundraising efforts for Relay. They als
o purchase a small amount of cancer awareness items to sell. In 2011, Kitty Keller designed a custom t-shirt for them. Linda, Butch, and Ann also do cowboy camp cooking in cast iron dutch ovens over a campfire. Their speialty is cowboy cobbler, which they sell at Relay For Life, Pecan Fest, Country Christmas, and various other places. All net proceeds from the sale of the jewelry, t-shirts, cancer awareness items and cowboy cobblers are all donated to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Cowgirls For A Cure also doantes cowboy dutch oven meals and other items to many local charities such as; Guadalupe County Youth Show Gala, St. James Catholic Church Casino Night, Seguin Noon Lions Club, Lifegate Christian School Chili Supper, and Queen's For Troops/Helping A Hero. Our goal and mission is to find a cure for all types of cancer in our lifetime.
