🚨Do you know what SART or CCRT are or stand for?

📍SART: Sexual Assault Response Team 📍CCRT: Coordinated Community Response Team.

‼️SARTs are state-mandated, multidisciplinary teams that coordinate efforts among law enforcement, medical professionals, such as Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE), and victim advocates. Under Texas law, every county is required to establish a SART to ensure a survivor-centered approach and to strengthen the investigation and prosecution of sexual assault offenses.

‼️CCRTs are broader coalitions comprised of community stakeholders, including local nonprofit organizations, educators, mental health professionals, and community leaders. These teams focus on prevention, education, and identifying and addressing gaps in community resources and services.

The Karnes County SART and CCRT group holds regularly scheduled meetings.

Thriving Hearts Crisis Center is honored to collaborate with vital community partners in this capacity. Together we are better equipped to provide comprehensive support and resources to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, empowering them on their journey from victim to survivor. We appreciate the collective efforts of all organizations! It takes a village!

What a fun-filled and memorable Seguin Rocks the Runway event which benefited the Seguin Silver Center.

Our very own rockstar volunteer, Rita, rocked the runway with three different outfits from The Cranny. From head to toe she chose three stellar pieces to rock the runway, representing The Cranny and Thriving Hearts Crisis Center. 👗👠👜

“I loved the event, Rita exclaimed! ... I loved how this event marketed us (The Cranny and Thriving Hearts Crisis Center) but also small boutiques and other places!”

Rita excitedly shared, “My favorite part was how Mrs. Lynette Gray and Mayor Donna Dodgen announced each model... It was very fun and care free. I myself shop at the Cranny, I know that my purchase is not just a purchase...”

We were honored and humbled to be a small part of the special event. 💜

WOW…. What a thought provoking and educational ‘In Her Shoes’ event hosted by our friends at Safer Path Family Violence Shelter. 🫶🏼💜

In Her Shoes is an interactive simulation about domestic violence. Based on the stories of real survivors, participants walk in the shoes of various characters. Participants move, act, think, and make choices as a person experiencing an abusive relationship. The intention of this interactive and introspective simulation is to leave participants with an intimate understanding of the difficult choices that face survivors as they leave abuse.

Thank you Safer Path staff for putting on this amazing and impactful event.

💬 Please remember: You never know what someone is going through behind closed doors. Be kind. Believe. Support. Listen.

"Physical scars may be the most visible sign of abuse, but the psychological, emotional, and financial wounds of victims are often concealed—and therefore ignored by many.”

💥Domestic violence comes in many forms! Abuse is abuse and there is NO
Excuse!

🫶🏼 If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please know resources and support are available. You are not alone! Help is available.
