This past week we had 4 students attend the TLU Summer Music Academy! They had a great time learning from some of the best around!

Thank you to the Band Boosters for being able to provide a couple of scholarships for these great students! Here’s to having more students attend next year!! 💛

This past Saturday, May 18th, the Barnes Beginner Band competed at TLU BandFEST and then spent the rest of the day at Schlitterbahn! Beginner Band played beautifully and received unanimous 1st division ratings AND Oustanding Performance!! All judges were extremely complimentary of the maturity demonstrated at such a young age with their playing, sensitivity to detail and quality of sound, balance and blend. BRAVO!! 👏🏽

They finished off the day with a well deserved trip to Schlitterbahn to celebrate. Everyone had tons of fun to finish out yet another successful year!

This past Friday May 18th, Honor Band travelled to Denton to perform at the UNT Murchison! Afterwards, they visited the Dallas World Aquarium, Art Museum, Klyde Warren Park and part of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. A very filled day with a great performance by the kiddos as well. They gave a great FINAL performance of the year to close out their time as Middle Schooler’s. And with that, the Barnes Honor Band 2023-2024 chapter has closed 😊

Last night was our final concert of the year, Spring Concert!! Much happiness was had with good music, awards and smiling children 😊 A great night of celebrations for a wonderful year! Mr. Moriarty and Ms. Rios are very proud of everyone! Thank you to everyone who came out to listen and support!

Teamwork!! This afternoon, Ms. Rios took Symphonic Band to TLU BandFEST to perform their UIL music one final time while Mr. Moriarty ran full Beginner Band rehearsal in preparation for their Spring concert tomorrow/TLU on Saturday. These kids are so so so talented!! 😊

First Beginner Band rehearsal for the Spring! They are preparing their 3 Full Band Contest pieces for Spring Concert next week along with their TLU BandFEST contest! They are already sounding so mature, it gave us goosebumps!! 🙌🏽
