We’re excited to share that on Friday, June 12th, and Saturday, June 13th, Hill Country Alliance and key partners will be hosting a plant distribution event at Mosty Brothers Nursery in Center Point! Over the past several months, several commercial nurseries have been custom-growing these plants for landowners impacted by the July 4th floods in the Upper Guadalupe River Basin.

Each landowner will be provided with containerized native plants as well as educational resources to help enhance the riparian zone at the water's edge. Enhancing the riparian zone with a diversity of strong rooted native plant species helps restore bank stability, improve water quality, habitat, and support the long-term health of the Guadalupe River.

Please RSVP at bit.ly/NativePlantsGiveaway, by June 8th so we can schedule a time and date for you to pick up your plants.

Who: Landowners along the Upper Guadalupe River and tributary creeks
What: Free plant distribution for these riparian landowners
Where: Mosty Brothers Plant Nursery, Center Point, Texas
When: 12th and 13th (Please RSVP by June 8th to pick a timeslot upon confirmation)
Why: By planting these species along the water’s edge, you’ll be helping restore bank stability, improve water quality, habitat, and support the long-term health of the Guadalupe River.

We treat every day like it’s Earth Day at the Guadalupe River Conservancy! 🌍💧

Protecting land isn’t just about scenery, it’s about protecting the future of our watershed. From the Hill Country to the coast, we work with landowners to ensure the Guadalupe River stays healthy, wild, and resilient for generations to come.

Guadalupe River Conservancy staff joined San Antonio Bay Partnership along with other volunteers to participate in an annual crab trap removal program. By removing abandoned crab traps, together we can prevent “ghost fishing” which captures crabs, fish and other non-target wildlife. We’re proud to be part of this collaborative effort to care for and preserve our coastal ecosystems. 🌊🦀

As the year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished together.

Every acre we conserve is a promise to the future, to clean water, thriving ecosystems, and resilient communities. Your gift to the Conservancy helps safeguard the natural lands that filter our water and support our communities, now and for generations to come.

Thank you, Friends of the Guadalupe River Conservancy. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

What’s behind our new name and logo? The ecology of the Guadalupe River, of course!

Our new logo depicts a bald cypress, one of the few species found throughout the watershed, while our new shade of blue reflects the unique limestone influence on the river as it flows from the Hill Country.

Our new identity is intended to reflect our role as the land trust for the entire Guadalupe watershed as well as our commitment to ensuring that natural and agricultural lands in this part of Texas are conserved forever.

Be sure to check out our online store for an awesome selection of GRC merch — find a new way to show off your Texas pride while supporting our conservation mission!

We are proud to re-introduce ourselves as the Guadalupe River Conservancy!

While we have a new name, our roots run deep. Since 2001, we have served as the nonprofit land trust for the Guadalupe River Watershed, helping to protect over 11,000 acres of public and private lands for conservation. This includes:

🌾Restoring 265 acres of wetlands in Caldwell County, the Plum Creek Wetlands Preserve
🐊Protecting over 800 acres in the Guadalupe River Delta to create a corridor of conservation lands near Matagorda Bay.
🦆Providing freshwater to 750 acres of habitat for plants, animals, and birds at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.

Guadalupe River Conservancy is ready to help ensure the land remains as it is today forever.

If you are considering options for conserving your land, now is a great time of year to get in touch with our team to discuss your conservation options. As families gather during the holiday season, you have an opportunity to discuss your hopes and intentions for your land, and how a legacy of conservation fits into that vision.

Introducing Guadalupe River Conservancy! The staff and Board
of Directors of Guadalupe-Blanco River Trust is proud to announce and unveil our new identity.

For 25 years, our organization has served as the land trust for the
Guadalupe watershed. We partner with those who love land,
water, and wildlife to conserve one of the most pristine rivers in
the state. We honor the legacies and stories of those who
steward the land and who have chosen to protect it forever. We
invite all to enjoy nature within the watershed, however they
choose, from hunting and fishing to birding and tubing.

Building our identity on the Guadalupe River — the backbone
uniting the diverse communities we serve — is our opportunity to
forge the partnerships necessary for us to succeed in our
mission.

We are sending our condolences to the families of victims of last week’s devastating floods, and our hearts go out to all suffering from a tragedy striking so close to home.

It seems that everyone knows someone who has been directly affected. The GBRT team has spent the past week ensuring our families, friends, and partners are safe, and we hope for the best for your loved ones.

As the land trust for the Guadalupe River watershed, we know that our organization can and will be part of the solution to prevent a catastrophe like this from ever occurring again. For now, however, we are focused on ensuring that folks have a food, water, and safe shelter while our region recovers.

If you are so inclined, we encourage donations to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund organized by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. You can also view a list of community needs, donation options, and volunteering opportunities via Hill Country Alliance. On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of Guadalupe-Blanco River Trust, thank you for your generosity.
