Guadalupe Valley Young Marines We develop young leaders through discipline, teamwork, service, and values through honor, courage, and commitment in real-world conditions in Seguin, Texas!

The Guadalupe Valley Young Marines is a youth leadership development program focused on building character, discipline, and responsibility through structured, real-world experiences. We believe leadership is learned by doing, not by lectures. Our program develops young people through:

• Physical discipline
• Teamwork and precision
• Community service

Everything we do is built around three core values:
Honor – do the right thing, even when it’s hard
Courage – try difficult things and accept correction

This is not a recruitment program and not a punishment-based environment. It is a structured, supportive setting where young people learn accountability, confidence, and respect—skills that carry into school, family life, and adulthood. Parents can expect:

We will also have cookies for a donation available for dessert AND we have just received an AMAZING donation to a raffle!

Wowza what a weekend!!!
4th of July was very busy, it started out by the unit raising the flag at Central Park for the start of the ceremony before the parade started.

Then the parade- thanks to YM George Washington leading our “boat” (float) and our strong YMs, Recruit & UC rowing that boat!

Later that evening YMs Calderon, Veliz and Villarreal did the opening color guard for the Freedom Fiesta event downtown Seguin, and snapped a picture with Sheriff Ray (Uncle Sam), who is a Marine.

We are highly involved in this weekends events: Come see us raise the flag at Central Park on Saturday, then check out our float in the parade as "YM George Washington" is guiding our boat across the Delaware!!! (imagination is very important in the heat lol).

Then come back at 6pm to see us do the opening color guard for Freedom Fiesta at Central Park!!

Just a reminder of all the great things going on here in Seguin this weekend:
Fireworks- can be seen in many directions from the Golf course/Starcke Park area.

Flag Raising ceremony will take place at Central Park (Guadalupe Valley Young Marines will be raising the flag)

Parade will be heading down Austin st towards Starcke Park.

Freedom Fiesta starts at 6pm (w/color guard with GVYM). Central Park area.

Field of Honor is going on until July 5th in front of the Lutheran Church on hwy 123, taps is played at 7pm every night.

YM PFC’s Veliz & Villarreal stepped up today (with help from dads, & DAV CO to place the colors for the opening day of the Field of Honor. While YM Sgt Calderon was finishing up his SLS, and UC was up to Kauffman County East YMs presenting a life saving award. We get it done! 😁👍🏻
