DID YOU KNOW THAT THE BIBLE DESCRIBES A GIANT MOUNTAIN OF BURNING FIRE BEING HURLED INTO THE SEA, TURNING ONE THIRD OF THE OCEAN INTO BLOOD IN A SINGLE INSTANT? 🌋🌊
In Revelation chapter 8, the Apostle John describes the sounding of the second trumpet of divine judgment during the final days of this age. He writes with the trembling pen of a man who has just seen something that no human eye was meant to witness. He says, "Something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood." This is not symbolic poetry. This is a real cosmic event that will shake the oceans of the earth.
The language of John is strikingly precise. He does not say it was a mountain. He says it was "like" a mountain, meaning the object is of mountainous scale but is not from this planet. Many Bible teachers believe this is a massive meteor or asteroid, superheated by its descent through the atmosphere, striking the sea with such catastrophic force that one third of global marine life perishes instantly. One third of ships are destroyed. The waters themselves take on the color of blood, whether by divine judgment or by the chemistry of the impact.
This is not the mind of a frightened prophet imagining the end of the world. This is the vision of a man taken into the spirit on the Lord's Day, shown exactly what will happen in the final days to shake the earth from its idolatry. The Almighty is not caught off guard by what is coming. He has already written the schedule. He has already measured the hour. The nations may build their technology and declare the earth untouchable, but the God who hung the stars will prove that the heavens themselves answer only to His command.
Child of God, do not fear what is coming upon the earth. The One who holds the burning mountain in His hand also holds you in His heart. The seals of judgment will fall, the trumpets will sound, the bowls will be poured out, but His blood-washed children will stand secure under the shadow of His wing. Live ready. Live holy. Keep your lamp burning. The Bridegroom is coming for a Church that has not forgotten her first love.
