A Message From My Heartโand a Necessary Reminder
To the woman who came into ReLoved Boutique today and questioned my volunteer about our prices, our rent, how we survive, and where the proceeds goโthis message is for you.
I was told you walked through the store telling your sister that โthis was highโ and โthat was high,โ and then questioned my volunteer about how I make ends meet.
Honestly, Iโm glad I wasnโt there.
When my daughter Lilly was fighting childhood cancer, people would often ask me, โHow do you do it?โ
The truth is, you donโt know howโyou simply figure it out. When your child is sick, you do everything humanly possible to keep going. You fight, you sacrifice, and you make it work because giving up is not an option.
That is exactly how I run this store.
We have good days, and we have slow days. Some days I know exactly how everything will get paid, and other days I have to figure it out. But at the end of every day, I know why Iโm doing this.
Iโm doing it for families walking through the same nightmare my family once lived through. Iโm doing it for the parents sitting beside hospital beds, the children enduring treatments, and the families wondering how they will pay their bills while trying to keep their child alive.
ReLoved Boutique isnโt just a business to me. It was created from unimaginable loss, love for my daughter, and a promise to continue helping others in her memory. Every purchase helps us keep these doors open and allows Lilly Lights the Way to continue supporting families affected by childhood cancer.
Our volunteers generously donate their time and their hearts. They are not responsible for defending our prices, explaining our finances, or proving the value of our mission to anyone.
If something is more than you wish to pay, you are always free not to purchase it. But if you come into our store only to criticize, question our integrity, or bring negativity into a place built from love, loss, and hope, then please shop somewhere else.
There are far too many wonderful people who donate, volunteer, shop, and truly understand the good we are trying to do. Those are the people I choose to focus on.
I do not need to explain my heart or my mission to anyoneโand neither do my volunteers.
At the end of the day, I know Lilly is looking down and is proud of what we are doing in her name. That is what matters to me. That is what keeps me going. ๐๐๏ธ
No family should ever fight childhood cancer alone.
