We have plenty of signs already made or you can bring your own with an uplifting message. Please share and come join us! The Concrete Resource Coalition is dedicated to building a healthier East Skagit County. One of our best-known events is Concrete Youth Activity Day, and if you have attended it in the past, it's easy to see how it supports health. What might be harder to see is how are events like Zombie Fashion Runway or Flight from Mordor promoting health? When we plan our events and activities we use guiding frameworks like the H.O.P.E model and Positive Childhood Experiences. Please watch this short video about HOPE to see how our “fun” activities are just as important for community well-being as daily exercise and healthy eating. Want to get involved? We had 35 people in 7 teams join us for the 2nd annual Flight from Mordor. It was great to see friends and family members of all ages work together to complete challenges, collect gems, and make it to Veterans Memorial Park without getting caught by the Nazgûl! We heard such great feedback from the teams, and we can’t wait to do it again next Cascade Days. Thank you to Ashlyn, Gabe, Tabitha, Alexis, James, David, Jayden and Stephanie for helping set up and for running the game. Thank you to the Concrete Lions for your donation to purchase prizes for our 1st-3rd team winners. Tonight was a great success!!

Cascade Days was so much fun! Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget Flight From Mordor is tonight 9 pm Silo Park.

Day three of Concrete Summer Leadership Adventure was spent hiking to Anderson Point. Julie from Glacier Peak Institute led a lesson on the carbon cycle and how to measure the amount of carbon stored in trees. Another great day connecting teens to the outdoors. Photo credit to GPI and CRC.
