What an extraordinary experience for the Sedona Charter School primary class to celebrate Earth Day 🌎 with enchanting activities such as paper making, color chip matching, seed harvesting, and paper seed tape making, while learning the importance of earth care; and isn't it magical how they've been immersed in the wonder of learning about the lifecycle of chickens, proudly witnessing the incubation and hatching of 13 adorable baby chicks, because embracing the earth's beauty is truly a special part of being human on this incredible planet 🌏. Here at Sedona Charter in the 🌻Sunflower room primary/kindergarden class, This last week, every child in the school was gifted some amazing generous gifts from a beautiful organization called Sedona kind. It is a wonderful organization who dedicates their time to service projects. Every child at the school received a beautiful hand knit 🧶 hat. 👒 we are so thankful for their kind gift!!
Www.sedonakind.org we also welcome to Miss Jill Trenholm back to our class working on some sculptures as well as singing our beautiful songs. Wow the kiddos came to back from 🍁break ready to get to work. We are working on so many skills, lots of grace and courtesy, waiting our turn when others are talking both in person and at circle time. We are so thankful for the donations of little brooms and dustpans, scrub brushes, and all of the amazing pumpkins 🎃 and squash. We will continue to learn through November about the parts, lifecycle, and are currently working on different ways to categorize different items, by shape, size, color ect.

🍁Halloween is coming up next Friday 🍁🎃👻 we will be celebrating as a school on Friday at 1:00 all of our class is invited, half-day friends included. They are welcome to stay through lunch and for our entire day so if they will be staying with us all day, make sure you pack them a healthy lunch and pick them up at the end of the day at 2:50 along with the rest of our class friends. We do need a few parent volunteers for our Halloween celebration which will happen at 1 o’clock on the grass courtyard area. Our sixth graders in upper elementary will be providing games and entertainment. A friendly reminder costumes are able to be worn to school. However, we ask that they have no masks, no props and no weapons.

I will be revising our sign-up classroom helper list for cleaning and special projects that we might have happening in the next few months. If anyone is interested, I will attach a link for that hopefully next week.
We will be starting in two weeks with a wonderful program, called artist in the classroom where we have an artist sharing their skills with us. Our first artist in the classroom will be Miss Jill, and she will be singing songs with the kids. I will attach the links below for you to practice at home.

Over here in the Sunflower room 🌻 🌻 Primary/kindergarden class….. Sink float last week was so fun! ALL OF THE pumpkins and squash floated. This has been so fun all science we have learned. Hypothesis forming and deductive reasoning. Real learning over here. This week we have dissected pumpkins, made pinecone turkeys, hammered golf tees into pumpkins, cooked fresh pumpkin cookies, roasted pumpkin seeds, made pumpkin soup, extra surprise recess with the 4th graders, chalk fun and so much learning.

Primary/ Kinder class has been having so much fun this month!!! A beautiful day at school starting with show and tell. Then a super yummy 🎃pumpkin taste test of our pumpkin cookies that we made in class yesterday. We welcomed Ms Jill back with our artists in the classroom program, sponsored by the city of Sedona for her last visit . We always enjoy the beautiful 🎶singing, and finishing up our amazing little mice🐭🐁We dissected our pomegranates from our school tree and later we will be taste testing our pumpkin seeds that we roasted yesterday both sweet and salty. I look forward to seeing you all at our ❄️☃️🧤🧣winter wonder walk tomorrow.

Ms. Heather's primary class had a fantastic first day with no tears at all!!!!! We took a tour of the school, had recess and bubble fun, learned the class rules, read books, worked, and even learned about how to press flowers. We are so very excited to be back in school with all of these sweet smiling faces.
