NON-PERISHABLE FOODS ONLY. By making a monetary donation - we can stretch your dollars and vastly increase the amount of food purchased through quantity buying and sales. Through monetary donations, you can help us purchase the foods our

clients most need. IMPORTANT: Please mail checks to our post office box: Sedona Community Food Bank, PO Box 3962, Sedona AZ 86340.

2. By donating food: Please bring non-perishable, unopened, nutritious, unexpired foods to Sedona Community Food Bank at 30 INSPIRATIONAL DR. in West Sedona (please come to the NORTH door) Monday-Thursday 7:30-12. To assure that someone will be there to receive your donation, please call first: 928-204-2808. You can also donate food by dropping it into one of the many blue barrels which are situated around Sedona and VOC:

3. By purchasing delicious See's Candies at the Sedona Community Food Bank's See's Candy Wagon in Bashas' parking lot on Coffee Pot Dr. in Sedona. Open seasonally, before Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day and Easter. All proceeds support the food bank.

We were delighted when Vincenzo Coppola and Enrico Panicciari, Italian exchange students hosted by the Sedona-Oak Creek Canyon Lions Club, spent Wednesday morning (August 12) at the food bank helping us on our busy distribution day! They plunged in and seemed to be everywhere assisting our volunteers and helping our clients. They were extremely personable and hard working and we loved having them as part of our food bank family for the day! (The article in this photo is from the Wednesday August 12 Sedona Red Rock News.

We'd like to thank EVERYONE who participated in the "Green Bag" Day event on Saturday 8. All of the food donors who filled their green bags with nutritious nonperishable foods, the many hard working neighborhood coordinators who picked the full bags along their routes and the dedicated volunteers from the participating emergency food organizations who schlepped, sorted and divvied up the food! The folks at https://yavapaifoodneighbors.com/the-power-of-one-green-bag/ coordinate this huge bi-monthly program which benefits so many of our friends and neighbors experiencing hunger including all of our clients.

THANK YOU to everyone who turned out for last week's performances of Peter and Wendy, this year's Missoula Children's Theatre play starring Sedona's kids! Price of admission was 2 cans of food and the photo here shows just the food accumulated from the first performance. After the second performance, the food donations amounted to 1104 pounds of food! This is almost 4 times the amount of food donated at last year's MCT shows. A special thank you to Rotary Club of Sedona Village who sponsored and promoted this amazing event and who volunteered their time to help out at the shows.

TOMORROW, Saturday August 1 at 1:30 and 4:00 Sedona's kids will be presenting "Peter and Wendy," an original musical based on Peter Pan. The cost of admission is a donation of nonperishable foods for Sedona Community Food Bank! These kids will have been learning and rehearsing all week under the direction of two actors from Missoula Children's Theatre, so it promises to be a fun time! Rotary Club of Sedona Village has sponsored this free week of theatre for kids for many years which is such a gift for our community. MCT's theatre week is also made possible by the support of the City of Sedona Government and Community Library Sedona. The venue is sponsored by Sedona-Oak Creek Unified School District and the The Arabella Sedona is the lodging host.
