Circle of Atonement

Circle of Atonement Helping you apply the principles of A Course in Miracles to daily life.

We clarify the Course’s sometimes difficult language in order to make possible a deeper understanding of its teachings. We then help you put those teachings into practice, explaining how to apply them in your everyday life. Our work grows out of our commitment to be as faithful as possible to what A Course in Miracles says. It also grows out of our years of dedication to walking this path ourselve

s and our desire to see the Course’s purpose realized in the lives of students and in the world. A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson 167: "There is one life, and that I share with God."

Just as Lesson 163 said that death is really an abstract principle, so this lesson tells us that the same is true of life.

It is a principle of unlimited existence and inner vitality that is part of God.

And since ideas leave not their source and we are an idea of God's, we cannot actually acquire qualities that do not come from Him.

And that includes the opposite of life--death.

Today, then, in the face of every tiny bit of death apparently encroaching on the life within us--in the form of anxiety, worry, anger, regret--we can affirm that, no, "There is one life, and that I share with God."

A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson 166: "I am entrusted with the gifts of God."

This lesson depicts us a homeless wanderer, alone and impoverished.

This condition, however, is not the truth, for wherever we go, all of God's gifts go with us.

Our task today is to be willing to look at those gifts and accept them as ours.

But that's not all.

The gifts have been entrusted to our care. We now must give them to our brothers by showing them the happiness that comes from accepting God's gifts.

A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson 165: "Let not my mind deny the thought of God."

For the practice of this lesson to be meaningful, we need to have an understanding and appreciation of "the thought of God" as it's used here.

When we say that phrase today, we should think of a limitless stream of light going out from God's Mind, bringing us into being, keeping us in existence, and then showering us with protection and care.

Who would want to deny that thought of God?

Did you know exactly what it takes to keep the Circle spinning each month? 📊✨

Yesterday, we introduced you to some of the faces behind our work. Today, as part of our "Did You Know?" campaign, we want to be completely transparent about the math behind our mission.

To share A Course in Miracles globally, create programming, and maintain our community space, our fixed monthly operational costs break down like this:

🔹 $34,000/mo goes directly to our lean, hard-working team of 11 people who write, produce, facilitate, and support everything you see. Without them, there is simply no Circle.

🔹 $6,000/mo powers the essential technology, platforms, and servers that deliver our programming straight to your screens and inboxes.

🔹 $5,000/mo covers the foundational office, legal, and operational infrastructure required to run a global organization.

This brings our total to roughly $45,000 each month.

When you donate to our campaign, you aren't funding a nameless corporate entity—you are directly paying the people, the tech, and the infrastructure that holds this community together. If you've benefited from our work, please consider making a gift to help us secure this month's operations.

We are so grateful for your trust, your partnership, and your support! 🙏

A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson 164: "Now are we one with Him Who is our Source."

There are two things to keep in mind today.

First, being one with God is not a big benefit; it is all benefit. Everything we could possibly truly want comes with being one with God.

Second, "faithfulness in practicing" today will allow us to lay hold of this endless treasure. Given what is offered us, can we be faithful today?

The practice being asked of us (since Lesson 153), day after day, is to set aside times of no less than five minutes, and as much as a half hour or more, morning and evening, to exercise our spiritual sight and hearing.

There are many days we let “slip by” without taking the time to do the work on our minds the Workbook calls for.

But when we do so, an amazing thing happens.

A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson 163: "There is no death. The Son of God is free."

A truly masterful lesson.

It says that death is more than a physical event; it is an abstract principle of the lessening of unlimited life.

These two principles--death and life--are so contradictory that only one can be true.

Today we choose which one.

If we affirm that "there is no death," we affirm that only life is true, and renounce death in all its forms: physical death, anxiety, worry, envy, concern for bodies.

We affirm that none of it is real.

When the Course says, “There is no death,” it is not talking about the death of the body.

In fact, elsewhere it states that the body does not die, for the simple reason that it never has lived (T-28.VI.2:4; T-6.VII.1:4).

To talk of physical immortality and to base it on ACIM is foolishness. How could what never lives live forever?

“Death,” says the lesson, “is a thought” (1:1).

We’re not being asked to abruptly jettison our feelings and our mis-thoughts.

All the Course asks is that we recognize that they are based on a lie, that really they are proclaiming God is dead, and that simply isn’t true. If we do that, the Holy Spirit will do the rest.

Did you know… we are officially halfway to our goal? 🌗✨

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have raised $22,504.20 toward our $45,000 monthly target. We are so deeply grateful to everyone who has stepped forward to support the "Did You Know?" campaign so far.

This goal isn't just a number—it represents exactly what it takes to keep the operations of the Circle running smoothly for a full month, ensuring our teaching and support of A Course in Miracles remains accessible to everyone, everywhere.

We are halfway there, but we still need your help. If the Circle has been a source of light, community, or support for you, please consider making a gift today to help us cover this month's operational costs.

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer.

A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson 162: "I am as God created me."

This is the third repetition of this central lesson of the Workbook (it first appeared in Lesson 94 and Lesson 110).

Note all the power that is ascribed to these words. "These words are sacred."

"They are the trumpet of awakening."

"For they come from God."

We are not what we made of ourselves.

Our mistakes have not changed the truth about us.

That is what accepting this idea means: the recognition that nothing we have done has been able to alter our relationship to God in the slightest, nor to change our nature, given us by God in creation.

Our most shameful acts, the thoughts we would never want exposed to the world, have, none of them, changed God’s creation in the slightest.

There is no reason for guilt, no cause to shrink from God in fear; our imagined “sins” have had no effect. We are still safe, and complete, and healed, and whole.

Yes, words are but symbols of symbols, but they can also be a powerful instrument of awakening.

Let's use them as that today.
