We have the most handsome new guy to introduce you to. It's Nicholas! 😍

Nicholas is a 5-year-old sweetheart who was taken in after being found abandoned. Despite everything he has been through, he is friendly, affectionate and happy to be petted just about everywhere...yes, even his belly!

This handsome guy plays gently, enjoys chasing and pouncing on toys, and has peacefully lived with both cats and dogs. He mostly minded his own business around the other kitties, while he was known to rub against the dogs and even greet them nose-to-nose. 🐾

Nicholas is neutered and FIV-positive—but that doesn’t mean he can’t live a long, happy and healthy life! With an indoor lifestyle, regular veterinary care and lots of love, many FIV-positive cats enjoy wonderful lives for years to come, and our animal care team would be happy to tell you more about how you can support Nicholas' health!

A day in the life of our very own Axle Rose! 🌹

Lots of toy time, some snuggles, some more toy time, and maybe a couple walks. And guess what? That smile is ALWAYS on this cutie pie’s face!

Axle is the sweetest dog and he needs your help finding a family! 🙏

He is one of the first dogs all of our volunteers want to walk during their shift. He’s is super easy to harness up and take outside! Axle walks well on a leash and he also loves to play in the park.

Axle is all about his toys! He loves the squeaky ones - if he can rip them apart, he’s into it 😂 He will run to fetch one ball and find another along the way and try to pick it up. He’s hilarious to watch, and it brings us so much joy to see him happy.

This cutie may do great with people but would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Axle is not only playful, but he loves to be scratched. He really just loves to be loved. He is quite affectionate and happy and is ready to show someone how wonderful he is! Why not you!?

He is just 1.5 years old and is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. He has been at the shelter way too long and needs YOUR help to spread the word about how wonderful he is!

Cinders was a much loved girl around the shelter! She brought everyone who came through the lobby so much joy when she was bunking in our catio Meow Manor!

A lucky adopter took her home and sent these cute photos of her settling in. Cinders is now Luna and her family said she is doing well! She's acclimating to her new digs and is such a sweetheart.

We love her lookalike pillow! 🤣 Thank you for giving this cutie pie a safe and loving home!

This Saturday, October 10, the Humane Society of Sedona and Coldwell Banker Realty Sedona are rolling out the blue carpet for a huge adoption event!

From 10 AM–4 PM, adoption fees will be 50% off, the shelter will be filled with adoptable cats and dogs eager to meet you, and we’ll be celebrating with a festive cookout. 🌭🎉

She's getting braver and isn't she GORGEOUS!!

Look at Mama Sally go!! We love to see her finally decompressing and trusting humans more and more every day.

Sally was found as a stray in Cottonwood and had a bunch of nursing babies with her! She was brought to us here at HSS and the sweet little family went into a foster home until her kittens were weened. Sally's kittens have been adopted and she's ready for her chance now! ❤

This pretty mama is just over a year old. She can still be a little shy when you meet her...we've not been able to really pet her just yet...but she's been through quite a bit in her life and we take everything at her pace around here.

Despite her timidness, Sally is very sweet! She would love a chaos free home where she can finally unwind and be a kitten herself!

Let's help her get that chance she so deserves. Share her sweet face everywhere!

Let’s take a minute to slow down your day and enjoy a massage moment with our girl, Sweetie!

Our staff and volunteers have poured so much love into this darling girl, and we are just thrilled with the progress she’s made.

We are so happy to see that little smile on Sweetie’s face, because we know her life hasn’t always been very sweet. She was saved from deplorable living conditions by one of our rescue partners and has taken quite a while to open up to us here at the shelter.

But as you can see, she has definitely learned how to trust people again and quite honestly wants nothing but the positive attention and the tender love that was withheld from her for so long.

Sweetie isn’t really into toys, and while she likes to go on walks, that’s not her favorite thing either. What she loves most is attention and feeling safe with her people.

Sweetie can be a little shy when you first meet her, as she’s still learning who she can trust in this world. She would do best in a home that is quiet and chaos free, where she can take some time to decompress. She does play well with other dogs here but it’s unknown how she does with cats.

This pretty girl is just 1.5 years old and deserves so much more than this life has given her so far. Please share so we can help her find a home! 🙏

It's October! And we have a great update on the Ghost with the Most! 👻

Handsome guy, Ghost was adopted from us a few weeks ago and is doing so well in his new home! Ghost now Winston has settled in nicely. Dad lives near a creek, which Winston loves. We think he is going to have some fun adventures! Dad says he is the perfect dog for him. 😊

Thank you for giving Winston the life he deserves! He is truly such a sweet dog who just wanted a companion to tag along with and love him. It looks like his dreams have come true!

Fritatta has never really known what it feels like to exhale. ❤️‍🩹

Just over a year old, this sweet girl was transferred to HSS from one of our rescue partners after being rescued from a hoarding situation. Her young life has been filled with stress, uncertainty and fear. But she deserves to discover an entirely different world.

Fritatta is ready for a quiet, peaceful home where she can finally feel safe, learn to relax and begin to trust at her own pace. She is a little shy here still, and would prefer a home without dogs, though she has gotten along with other gentle kitties.

What Fritatta needs most is patience, kindness and someone willing to show her that home can mean soft places to sleep, calm days and love without fear. She has her whole life ahead of her—will you help make it beautiful? 🐾💕
