Cultivating Bodhicitta Practice

(Every Saturday) Starting Nov 20, 2021

10 AM CST

A weekly, safe-space to gather to discuss & meditate on Bodhicitta. (Beginner's level Intro to Buddhism. Prayers in English unless Tibetan Speaker is present)

(The Sanskrit term bodhicitta (mind of awakening) refers to the state of mind of a bodhisattva, who pursues Buddhahood in order to benefit others. There are two primary aspects: (1) a conventional aspect of a bodhisattva who aspires to Buddhahood; and (2) an ultimate aspect, which is actualized when the nature of mind of a bodhisattva awakens. The conventional aspect also has two levels: (1) aspirational (praṇidhāna) bodhicitta, in which the bodhisattva takes a vow to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of others; and (2) practical bodhicitta, which refers to actual practice on the path)

Tsori Dechen Rinpoche
February 26, 1974 - November 1, 2021

It is with utmost sorrow that I announce the death of our Beloved Teacher
Tsori Dechen Rinpoche.
He died Nov 1, 2021 at the age of 47, in the hospital in Southeast India in their early morning hours. Rinpoche was a very bright light in this world. He was the most kindest, compassionate and loving Teacher towards everyone he met. He helped so many people. He created a home for the elderly and a home for nuns, in Nepal. He also has a Monastery and Temple for young monks in Mainpat India, which provides shelter and education for all the young monks.

Please look at his website www.ytdr.org to see the accomplishments done at the Monastery within the last 10 years.

Rinpoche touched the lives of thousands, many of who became his devoted students. We offer prayers for his swift human rebirth.

Please see his web site WWW.YTDR.ORG
for information on his cremation ceremonies. Also visit the web site for information on group Zoom calls so that you can participate in sharing and hearing stories of how Rinpoche touched so many lives.
Please donate to www.YTDR.ORG to help continue the education and care of the monks at the Monastery.

The YTDR Foundation was founded by Tulku Tsori Rinpoche to provide access to the Buddha Dharma by offering compassion and wisdom to all sentient beings.

Hiding one's faults within, although they are as huge as a mountain, one exposes and condemns others' faults, although they are as small as a sesame seed.
Without having even the slightest good quality, one acts as if one is noble.
Named a Dharma Practioner, all one does is against Dharma.
Sublime Guru, you who know, please swiftly look upon me with compassion.
Bless me to pacify my pride and selfishness.
Thinly Norbu Rinpoche 1931-2013

It is not enough to be compassionate. You must act. There are two aspects to action. One is to overcome the distortions and afflictions of your own mind, that is in terms of calming and eventually dispelling anger. This is action out of compassion. The other is more social, more public. When something needs to be done in the world to rectify the wrongs, if one is really concerned with benefitting others, one needs to be engaged, involved.
