Beginning July 1, 2015, the City of Sedalia assumed operations of the Sedalia Animal Shelter. Adoption prices will be $65.00 to $150.00 for dogs, $35.00 for cats and $45.00 for kittens. This fee includes the spay and neuter of the animal, microchip implantation and registration, first set of vaccinations and one month of pet insurance coverage. The shelter is always in need of bleach, laundry soap, dish soap, dog and cat food, blankets, treats and toys. LAST REMINDER: We are having our next vaccine clinic TOMORROW!

We are very excited to announce our next Vaccination Clinic is coming up on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and everyone is welcome!

***No appointment needed***

💳 We accept cash and cards only. Sorry, no checks. If you can pay with cash, it helps keep the line moving faster and avoids those pesky card processing fees.

🚫 Please do not enter the building unless directed by a staff member. We'll be bringing people in as space allows to keep things moving safely and efficiently.

⏰ The cutoff time to get in line is 2:30 p.m. If you're not in line by 2:30, we won't be able to guarantee service before the clinic ends.

Please remember to be patient with staff and your fellow pet owners so we can make things run as smoothly as possible. Let's continue to make the pets in our community happy and healthy! We hope to see you all there!

Let's talk about shelter dogs! 🐶 Did you know that Adopt a Shelter Dog Month has been raising awareness since 1981? Every year, countless dogs find themselves in shelters, each with their own story, personality, and hope for a fresh start.
Adopting a shelter dog doesn't just change one life; it also opens up space for another dog in need! Adoption helps combat shelter overcrowding. Here's something important to remember: A shelter is a temporary stop, not a dog's identity. Dogs end up in shelters for many reasons, including strays, housing changes, financial struggles, or circumstances beyond their control. Being in a shelter doesn't make a dog any less deserving!

🐕 Want to make a difference? Here's how!
🏡 Adopt: Give a dog a forever home and help make room for another animal in need.

Sometimes life has a way of changing your plans, and sweet Sarge found his way to us through absolutely no fault of his own. 🥺 This handsome boy deserves so much more than an unexpected change in his world. He deserves a family!
Let's talk about this handsome fella! 👀 Sarge might be an Anatolian Shepherd mix… or maybe a Belgian Malinois mix. Honestly, we might need a DNA test and a detective because this boy has us playing Guess That Breed! 😂🕵️ Either way, he looks like he could be your personal bodyguard, your adventure buddy, and the supervisor of every single thing you do. Don't worry though, his paycheck can be paid entirely in treats and belly rubs! 🤣🦴
