Hello, and welcome to the Sedalia/Pettis County/Mid-Missouri anonymous comment repository, The Sedline. This is where local people say exactly what they need to say without fear. Here are a few guidelines and things to consider when contributing to or reading The Sedline:
If you wish for your comment to remain anonymous you must submit it to The Sedline in one of three ways:
1. Via private messa
ge at https://www.facebook.com/SedaliaSedline
2. Via E-Mail at [email protected]
The Sedline is interesting because it is anonymous and we wouldn't dare try to change that; your anonymity is assured. But if you feel like putting in an extra layer of protection, you can utilize a temporary e-mail address using a site like https://www.guerrillamail.com when sending a contribution to [email protected]
Contributions will be reviewed and then posted anonymously on both Twitter and Facebook. You can also post on the Facebook wall or Tweet at any time if you don't wish to remain anonymous. We do want to hear from you. And there aren't a whole lot of things that we won't post, there are some:
1. At this time, we are not accepting photo or video submissions. For the time being, we deal exclusively in text; and don't post dumb funny internet pictures on our wall or invite us to play your Facebook games, please.
2. We will not post submissions that consist of negative accusations against private and public individuals. Thanking someone specifically for something that they have done is fine; making accusations without naming names or using phrases that point to specific people is also fine; but we will not allow you to name names. This is for our legal protection and yours. Complaining about a public figure's recent public decision or comment is fine, accusing them of being some sort of criminal is not.
3. Using naughty words is allowed, because we're all adults here. But if you over use them, we might decline to post your contribution to maintain some level of decency.
4. Carefully review the things that you contribute to The Sedline for proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. We feel as though it would be overstepping our boundaries to edit your submissions, even if it's something as simple as a misspelled word, so if your contribution is chosen it will be presented directly to the world as-is.
5. We do not want your advertisements. It doesn't matter if it's a yard sale, a multinational corporation or a lemonade stand. If we allowed one of them, we'd have to allow all of them. We will update this document as it becomes necessary. We look forward to your submissions.
