Child Safe of Central Missouri Completes National Children's Alliance Reaccreditation Site Visit

On October 9, 2026, Child Safe of Central Missouri welcomed site reviewers from the National Children's Alliance (NCA) as part of our reaccreditation process. Throughout the day, Child Safe staff, members of our Board of Directors, and our dedicated Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) partners met with reviewers to discuss the collaborative work being done to serve children and families impacted by abuse.

The site visit provided an opportunity for our community partners to share their experiences working with Child Safe and highlight the strength of our MDT approach. Reviewers heard that our forensic interviewers provide a high-quality process that supports successful outcomes for children and the investigative team. Prosecutors expressed appreciation for the thorough discussions that take place during case review meetings and for the strong relationships built among MDT partners.

Several themes emerged throughout the day:
✨ Child Safe staff consistently go above and beyond to support children, families, and MDT partners.
✨ Staff members are caring, compassionate, and deeply passionate about the families they serve.
✨ Open communication between Child Safe and MDT partners fosters trust and collaboration.
✨ MDT members are receptive to new ideas and different perspectives when working cases.
✨ Child Safe staff and MDT partners have built strong relationships and can rely on one another for guidance, support, and assistance.
✨ The commitment to teamwork ensures that children and families receive the coordinated services they need during difficult times.

We are incredibly grateful to our staff, Board of Directors, MDT partners, and community supporters whose dedication makes this work possible. The reaccreditation process reflects our shared commitment to providing the highest quality services for children and families throughout our region.

Child Safe of Central Missouri is seeking donations of personal care items to support children and families who have experienced child abuse, child sexual abuse, human trafficking, and exposure to violent crimes.

Many families arrive at our center facing difficult circumstances and immediate needs. Donations of hygiene and personal care products help provide comfort, dignity, and support during a challenging time in their lives.

Child Safe of Central Missouri had the privilege of welcoming the UCM Police Academy to Child Safe of Central Missouri for a tour and educational session focused on child abuse and the role of Child Advocacy Centers across Missouri.

Academy participants learned about the response to allegations of child sexual abuse and physical abuse, the multidisciplinary team approach, and how Child Advocacy Centers work to support children and families throughout the investigative and healing process.

Thank you to these future law enforcement professionals for your engagement, thoughtful questions, and commitment to protecting children in our communities. We appreciate your dedication to serving others and look forward to the impact you will make throughout your careers.

This week, Child Safe of Central Missouri is proud to be participating in our reaccreditation review through the National Children's Alliance (NCA), a process that occurs every five years to ensure Children's Advocacy Centers continue to meet the highest standards of care for children and families impacted by abuse. NCA-accredited centers are evaluated on nationally recognized standards that guide the multidisciplinary response to child abuse, including forensic interviews, victim advocacy, mental health services, case coordination, child safety, and organizational capacity. In Missouri, every Child Advocacy Center is accredited by the National Children's Alliance!

Reaccreditation is more than a review. It is an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to providing high-quality, child-focused services to children who have experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, trafficking, neglect, or who have witnessed violence. During the process, national reviewers examine documentation, policies, collaborative practices, and services to ensure children and families receive the best possible care.

We are honored to work alongside our multidisciplinary team partners, including law enforcement, child welfare, prosecutors, medical professionals, mental health providers, and victim advocates, who help ensure children do not have to navigate the aftermath of abuse alone.

As we undergo this important review, we remain focused on our mission: providing hope, healing, and justice for children and families throughout Central Missouri.

A special thank you to the SFCC Men's and Women's Basketball teams for leading drills, sharing their talents, and inspiring our young athletes. Your enthusiasm made the evening unforgettable.
