Rampart Range Motorized Management Committee (RRMMC)

Rampart Range Motorized Management Committee (RRMMC) This area is known as the Rampart Range Motorized Recreation Area.

The RRMMC is an all-volunteer, nonprofit corporation founded in 1972 to work with the Forest Service to promote and preserve the riding opportunities in the Rampart Range. Located in the Pike-San Isabel National Forest about 35 miles southwest of Denver are nearly 200 miles of trails for off-road motorcycles (dirt bikes, trail bikes, or whatever you call them) and ATVs. The trails, some of which w

ere originally stage coach roads, and stock and game trails, traverse several hundred square miles of national forest at elevations ranging from about 6,500 feet to over 8,500 feet. There are currently over 20 designated trails with terrain and challenges varied enough for riders of all abilities to find enjoyable. The South Platte Ranger District of the USDA Forest Service and the Rampart Range Motorcycle Management Committee (RRMMC) maintain the trail system.

The Rampart Range Motorcycle Management Committee sponsors a non-competitive Poker Run for off-road motorcycles (no ATV's) and riders of all ages. There is a short course (approximately 15-25 miles) and a long course (approximately 50-55 miles). Riders of all abilities are welcome.

Prizes are awarded on the basis of the poker hand you draw at the final check point. This is an AMA sanctioned, non-competitive event and the 5 prizes awarded for each course are based on your luck in drawing one of the five highest winning poker hands consisting of five (short course) or seven (long course) total cards. It is not required for participants to be AMA members.

The entry fee includes donuts and coffee sponsored by Performance Cycle and a gourmet lunch of hot dogs sponsored by StuckNutz. Serving begins at 12:00 noon.

Prizes are awarded after the event is over, however you don't have to stay to claim your prize. Those who stay around for the awards will also gain a chance at several door prizes donated by local dealerships and organizations including:

Fay Myers Motorcycle World
Performance Cycle of Colorado
Vickery Motorsports
Peak Honda World
G-Force Powersports
Grand Prix Motorsports
Woody's Wheel Works

Yesterday we held our first big work party of the season sponsored by StuckNutz!

We tackled several different projects at Rainbow Falls with the Pikes Peak Ranger District, including post and cable fencing, posts for barbed wire, trail and campsite rehabilitation, trash cleanup, and helped Stay the Trail install their new information board.

Lunch was pizza from Sedalia Bakery and sponsored by StuckNutz, and Cavalry Mechanical supplied donuts for breakfast.
