We invite you to join us for another fabulous “Down & Dirty Gardening Seminar” on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm at Cypress Bend Resort, Many, LA. Our speakers are:
Dr. Damon Abdi Ph.D-“Louisiana Super Plants: Research-Based Solutions for Super Landscapes” Dr. Abdi is an LSU AgCenter horticulturist at Hammond Research Station, researching sustainable landscapes and sharing practical tips for gardeners of all levels. The presentation will focus on different Louisiana Super Plants and how to implement them into landscape designs and maintenance plans.
Tammany Baumgarten-"The Story of Louisiana’s Native Plants: Past and Present" Tammany Baumgarten is a horticulturist and owner of BaumGardens in New Orleans, specializing in native and habitat gardens. She is a longtime leader in Louisiana’s gardening community, co-founding the Louisiana Certified Habitat and Native Professional programs, and creating gardens that celebrate seasonal blooms and welcome both wildlife and people.
Jess Cole-"Cut with a Purpose: The Fundamentals of Pruning" Naturalist and designer Jess Cole, owner of Sweet Fern Native Plants and writer of Country Roads Magazine’s “Our Sustainable Garden,” specializes in creating landscapes rooted in southeastern ecology.
