EXTREMELY CONCERNING (New Jersey): The NJ AG just put out a press release that the state will launch a "Gun-Safety Public Awareness Campaign". The concerning part is not that anti-gunners will anti-gun, that's to be expected.

The concerning part is that the program will have a heavy emphasis on educating people about ERPOs (Extreme Risk Protection Orders), their existence, and how to file them.

What's the problem? In New Jersey, they can be filed anonymously and based on complete lies (as has happened plenty of times), and your 4th Amendment rights will vanish into thin air. The law was written in such a way that it is wide open for rampant abuse against those who pose no threat.

The cops come to your home, seize all of your fi****ms and anything related, all without a court hearing. And God forbid you have a magazine that you can squeeze an 11th round into - felony.

Article coming shortly. While we are busy writing up a more detailed article, read about "The Sad Case of Kyle Arena". Perhaps he's not a poster boy, but he was anonymously red-flagged over a year-old Facebook post that threatened nobody, didn't contain his face or identifying marks, and his rights were egregiously violated. See that story here: https://www.news2a.com/editorials/the-sad-case-of-kyle-arena/

📽️: https://youtu.be/QFdsOFzfBEY An armed suspect approaches the security detail for Justice Sonia Sotomayor near the Supreme Court Justice’s residence. Shots are fired, and the suspect is apprehended.

Armed guards protect Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, although she consistently dissents against 2A rulings like in McDonald v. Chicago (2010), rejecting “a private right of armed self-defense.”

In the case, Justices Breyer/Ginsberg/Sotomayor contended, “I can find nothing in the Second Amendment’s text, history, or underlying rationale that could warrant characterizing it as ‘fundamental’ insofar as it seeks to protect the keeping and bearing of arms for private self-defense purposes.”

Later in the dissent, after criticizing a prior SCOTUS decision — District of Columbia. v. Heller (2008) — Breyer/Ginsberg/Sotomayor stressed, “Further, there is no popular consensus that the private self-defense right described in Heller is fundamental.”

In the early portion of the dissent’s conclusion, Breyer/Ginsberg/Sotomayor claimed, “In sum, the Framers did not write the Second Amendment in order to protect a private right of armed self-defense. There has been, and is, no consensus that the right is, or was, ‘fundamental.’”

Justice Sotomayor's rulings impact everyday citizens' rights to self-defense, yet her armed security detail shows the stark reality of "rules for thee, but not for me" by the elites making the rules!
