The Highlands County NAACP is proud to announce our Annual Freedom Fund Scholarship, created to support and empower the next generation of leaders in our community.

If you are a graduating high school senior with a passion for education, leadership, and community impact, we encourage you to apply!

💰 Scholarship Award: $1,000

📅 Application Deadline: May 16, 2026

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a graduating high school senior
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Must be a person of color or of African descent

Essay Requirements

Applicants must submit a 300–500 word essay addressing:
• Your educational goals and chosen major
• How your major will benefit your community
• How receiving this scholarship will support your educational journey
• Personal characteristics and experiences that make you uniquely deserving of this scholarship
