Board member; His Light for Haiti.
———————————————————
His Light for Haiti had its annual board meeting, as we met in Florida and had fellowship with our Maine partners. The mission work in Haiti continues despite the atrocities going on in the country. The children groups are learning about Jesus and are being fed, the word and food. There are children and adults coming to Christ. God is present and the Holy Spirit is working, comforting and providing guidance and wisdom.
The burden is overwhelming and the staff and people are struggling. There is an anticipation of worsening food and water insecurities, violence and disease. There are many stories that I could share. However God has put it on my heart to tell you just a little about our partners in Haiti, Pastor Wawa and his wife Josette.
Wawa is the president of the seminary in PAP and is our director and advisor for our mission group.
He became a Christian when he was a young man. He grew up in a voodoo practicing home. His father was a voodoo priest, who by the grace of God became a Christian, later in life and in fact attended the seminary in PAP. Wawa and Josette know the struggles of living in a third world culture. Josette is our administrator and financial officer. What is going on in Haiti at this time is much more than what these two beautiful Haitians are accustomed . Our brother and sister are experiencing a trial of great tribulation. They are faithful to the success of the ministry and mission in Haiti. They are Godly and trustworthy people.
We had a few on line meetings with them this past week. We have known these wonderful people for many years and for the first time I could detect a sense of discouragement in their voices. They love their country and are devoted to the ministry at the seminary and with His Light for Haiti. Their daily lives include concerns for safety and food and water insecurity. They are unable to get around or be mobile. All roads, seaports and airports are occupied by gangs. Markets are scarce and banks are closed. There is violence and chaos in their neighborhoods. Wawa is asking for miraculous transformation, through prayer. He and his wife are experiencing humanism, as we all would in such circumstances. They are strong in their faith…I sense that they are not fearful however they are tearful and experiencing anger and some discontent with the politics and the multiple failed attempts at a resolution.
Wawa and Josette have asked for specific prayers for safety, endurance and essential resources. They both know this will continue to be difficult and are asking for a steadfast Godly solution.
One of the ways that you can help is by prayer, prayer chains and helping with the awareness of what is happening in Haiti.
His Light for Haiti is still continuing our mission work. We are continuing fund raising.
